As you might remember, my computer crashed weeks ago. I can't reinstall Photoshop CS3 on the "new" one. I downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CC; but it's not the same (these two softwares are about ten years apart!) . I'd like to be operational as soon as possible. Are there courses, books or blogs you would recommend, please? Even if it's PSE, it's all good. ETA: I used CS3 for digital/hybrid scrapbooking as well as for photos, so I instinctively posted here. Please let me know if I should remove my post and post it somewhere else. Updated 03/20/18: Customer Service sent a downloading file and activation key, so I'm back to using CS3. I'm so happy. Thank you for your help!

By far, I would say the most helpful resource is www.lynda.com. They have so many video tutorials on so many subjects, including Photoshop. It is pricey but you get a 30 day free trial so if you wanted to set aside some time each day. They have lots of classes but the one I think you'd find most helpful is this one. Also, if you have a library card to a larger public library system (like the LA library) you can sometimes get free access through your library. YouTube also has great tutorials. I don't have a specific one for learning Photoshop but whenever there's something I can't figure out how to do, I just search for it on YouTube and usually get a lot of results, so that's an option if you don't want to pay $$. Finally, Adobe has a Photoshop Classroom in a Book on Amazon for about $38 which will give you exercises to learn Photoshop. I'm actually taking a course on Photoshop and Illustrator right now at my college and we are using this book. I've only read chapters 1-4 but it's pretty good. For me personally though, I prefer the video instruction because I feel like I learn more. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'd be happy to answer them!

I recently upgraded (reluctantly!) from CS4 to CC when I got a new Mac. So far, I just go to Adobe communities for support with specific questions. I just got a recent tip for Phlearn as a great resource for Photoshop tutorials on YouTube, but I haven’t checked it out yet. I’m not a power user by any means.

Cathy Zielske & Jessica Sprague have some great classes. On youtube I've found Dearly Dee & Larkin Designs have some great photoshop tutorials. I'm not an expert either but I love using it. Good luck!

I had CC on my laptop and ended up canceling that subscription and just buying the newest PSE. For me, PSE is just way easier and it does everything I need it to do.

wendifful Thank you for your help, I'll check everything you mentionned! The book is available through Amazon.fr, too. oaksong It's so difficult to upgrade, especially when you don't want to, right ? Thank you, I bookmarked Phlearn. scrappyem thank you for your encouragement and suggestions! I'll check that too. mom I downloaded PSE14 on my computer from 2 years ago. I know it's supposed to be easier, and it certainly is more user-friendly than CC, but I had so many habits with CS3. I'm not sure which will be easier to learn right now! Did you find the subscription useful? Can you cancel anytime?

scrapincin Thank you, but downloading/installing wasn't a problem. Since my computer crashed when Photoshop was in active mode, Adobe won't let reinstall it on another computer. Dura lex, sed lex.

Millefeuilles have you solved your issue? I have used PS since '94 for business and pleasure so maybe I can help. Maybe send me a private message about what kind of issue you are getting.

macaddict You're very kind, thank you. I may do that soon if you don't mind. ETA: Oops, sorry, it didn't quite register that you were speaking of Photoshop CC.

scrapincin I have had bad luck with computers. Two of them crashed in the last four years. That may have been why I couldn't install CS3 anymore. But your post prompted me to check some more. I ended up calling Customer Service. They gave me another key and so far, CS3 works. Thank you!

I am just glad its working cuz when you want to use it and as much as it costs you should be able to use it. Good luck with your computer I have a lemon over here and I thought it was going to be a real good one. I get blue screen errors and it crashed 3 times this week. and it is only a year old. when ever things go wrong I do a search about and continue to do them until I find out what to do. I finally have this laptop the way I wanted it to be. So it may not be you but the computers causing the havoc.
