I’ve been having a hard time finding anything to read. Even this book hasn’t interested me so much but because of the reviews I pushed through the first few chapters. Then my mom comes over today and asked ‘is that the one with the woman with agoraphobia?’
So did she spoil this book for me? Is it dumb to keep going?
I got so mad and she said it was revealed in the first couple of pages and i replied no, nothing like that was revealed.
So should I move on to a new book?
Paige.

I never mind the end of a book being "spoiled". I like to see how the author gets from the beginning to the end and how the plot and characters develop. But that's just me. Some folks like to be surprised.

Keep reading. It was my Reading Group book last month and surprisingly everyone really liked it. Agoraphobia is not even close to being a spoiler.

I really liked that one, and no, that's not a major spoiler. It is revealed early.

Paige I read this book and loved it. Gave it 5 Stars. Fairly early in the book you realize that she doesn’t leave her house very often. Whether they actually tell you she has agoraphobia I don’t remember but it doesn’t effect the outcome of the book at all.
There are a few surprises in the book - make sure your mom doesn’t let anything else slip.

Keep reading, for sure! One of my favorite books of 2018 thus far.

No, you know early on the woman has agoraphobia. The first few lines in the Goodreads description are:
That's what they entire focus is of the first part of the book, how she doesn't leave the house, her drinking and pill popping...it sets up who she is.
One part of the mystery that doesn't get solved for a while is why she is like that...what happened in her past to make her like this, and the second part of the mystery is all about what she saw happen at her neigbour's.
The agoraphobia is definitely NOT a spoiler as far as this book is concerned, and if you hadn't already picked it up in the first few chapters then you must not have been paying attention when reading as there are plenty of clues before it is said outright.
The first 60% is all about her wandering around unwashed, drunk and taking pills and that's pretty much all that happens, and I think it should have been more heavily edited. The second 40% contains all the action and "mystery/thriller" parts of the book.
