When I was in middle school or high school, my friends and I saw a family band perform at Six Flags in the early 80's. The lead singer was their high school age son, and there were probably about 6 kids all together. We probably saw every one of their shows that day, but I have no idea what the name of their group was. During the break, we talked with them a bit, and I'm pretty sure the lead singer was named Rich Garver. They were the sweetest kids! Of course, being the smitten 14 year old I was, I thought he was just a doll, and actually called Six Flags later in the summer to get their contact information. This was back in the days where kids actually wrote fan mail, and I was so shocked when I got not one, but maybe 3 or 4 letters back from them! (Or their mom, who knows. ) Anyway, I was telling me dd's about this experience and they tried to look up some old videos on youtube of them, but we are getting nowhere. I don't know the name of the band, but is there anyway I can still find out this many years later? Their music was pretty tame; pop, kind of a Partridge Family vibe. It would be fun to hear them again now and try to recall what all the fuss was about.

It's not the Jets. They're the Wolfgramm's. They lived in my neighborhood, down the street. Talented, but loud.

I hope you find out the name! I tried googling and came up with nothing. I did find a Richard Garver in St Louis and his age fits the timeframe...but he is a sex offender. Here is a picture. Hoping it isn't him so you're childhood dreams aren't crushed.

Looks like the Wolfgramm family band does have ties to the Jets, as the father was in the Jets.

Since you only THINK that is his name, I tried some alternatives. Is this him? www.richardgarvey.ca/ Canadian though. Hard to judge his age from the photos too.

DeFranco Family? Tony DeFranco? Although they were most popular in the late 70s.

The Garver Trio had a lead singer named Rich - here's a newspaper article: www.newspapers.com/newspage/26488308/Part of the text includes: Six Flags, here we comet' Left to right are Thea, Rich and Suzie, the Garver Trio. (I Photo) Holiday Shores Youngsters Trio in the Big Time By Dick Norrish Of the Intelligencer Holiday Shores People who go to Missouri's giant Six Flags Over Mid- America amusement park this summer may be entertained by three blond, blue - eyed youngstersThat must be them! ETA: And yes, Laurie's link above to Richard Clark Garver is indeed the right guy. Ugh. Here's the dad's gravestone, with Thea, Suzie and Rich's names on it - and Rich is Richard Clark Garver II. www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=102413381
