Can anyone recommend some good YouTube videos and/or tutorials for colouring with Prismacolor pencils? I'm talking tutorials for beginners. I've watched a few but I am nowhere near where some of these people are and I'm looking for things like adding shadows properly, blending, etc. I pulled my markers out for the first time this past weekend and the best results I got were when I used gamsol. I think I'm probably applying too much pressure and not blending properly. I tried to colour some cupcakes, which I though was basic enough for a beginner, but my results were kind of sad! I know it takes patience and practice, but if anyone can recommend a video and/or tutorial for beginners, that would be great!

I’d be interested in that too. I’ll be checking this thread.

I think the big thing to achieving good results is to first get a good handle on using color theory and do some searches for help with that. I just did a quick YouTube search for “color theory using colored pencils” and a bunch of videos popped up. Once you know which colors to use, then you can work on your technique such as how to lay down the colors and blend them, how to simulate a light source to show highlights, reflections and shadows, etc. Good luck! Colored pencils are my favorite medium.

Thank you for the links and tips. I've added the videos to my watch later list so I can watch them on my 40 minute commute to/from work. Funny you mention Gina K because I just watched the video she did for SSS using Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I admit that I get better results when using Gamsol - or at least the look I'm after is easier to achieve using Gamsol. I just want to master the pencils without using it. I think I getting an adult colouring book and practicing at night may help.
