This is local to me, so I thought I'd fill you all in on things in the area. These are some of my favorites, but there are so many more. The Village in Claremont has lots of great little shops and restaurants, but it does get crowded in the evening. The Sheraton Hotel has a decent restaurant, too.
LSS: Hearts and Crafts - Covina - it's a good one, and they will also have a booth at the Expo
Craft Stores: Michaels - La Verne, Tuesday Morning - La Verne ( I was just there, not much to look at this week), and Tuesday Morning in Glendora ( They put their stuff out on Thursday morning, usually better than the La Verne store)
Breakfast: Mr. D's - La Verne or Pomona, Walter's - Claremont
Lunch: 4th St. Mill - La Verne, Union on Yale - Claremont, Eureka Burger - Claremont, Back Abbey - Claremont
Dinner: Shogun - La Verne, Cafe Allegro - La Verne, Chases - La Verne, Thai Orchid - Pomona, Elvira's Mexican Food- Claremont
Cocktails, appetizers: Bardot - Claremont
Feel free to ask if there is anything else in particular that you're looking for. I'm registered for the crop on Saturday only, unless I can sneak away from the office other days. This darn job keeps me from having all the fun!
PM me if you are able to meet for lunch or coffee. It would be fun to meet some Peas!
For those who are going on Thursday or Friday, let us know how it is!

Thanks for the info. I am planning on driving up early Saturday morning. It’s just about 2 hours from me here in San Diego County. I am hopeful it is bigger than Ontario. I have to make a list of my must haves so I don’t forget anything.
How far is Covina from the Expo site?

I will be there all weekend. I'm not in a huge rush to get there since check in isn't until 3pm, so instead of leaving before the sun is up, I'm going to leave after my husband gets back from taking our oldest to school. I still have to pack toiletries (but not until after I shower) and put some music on a flash drive so I'm not stuck with the satellite radio if there isn't anything good on. I can't promise I'm game to meet up. I'll be honest. When I meet people I know from the interwebz (I've done it on accident with locals a few times because they've friended me on FB after us having run into each other in various groups so I recognize them and on accident it's okay because I didn't have time to think about it) with some pre-planning involved I psych myself out and have severe anxiety thinking about it. You should ask my husband just how bad I can get. It took me about 6 months of dating him long distance (we met online, but it wasn't a dating service, we were friends online for years before finally meeting and started to date months after meeting in person) before I felt comfortable around him...it would take me half of a visit to not be a nervous wreck. He, of course, thought it was the cutest thing in the world. Me, not so much. I'm the 'real me' online, but it takes me a LONG time to become that person with other people in the real world. Hence the whole hiding in my hotel room thing.

Stop in and tell them TEE said to give you 20% off... If you don't make it to our store stop by our booth. Tee (Owner)

Thanks for dropping in, tee. Good luck with your booth sales at the Expo! scrapaddict702, I hope you have a nice relaxing weekend! No worries on meeting up, just have fun! tinksmommy, are you cropping or just shopping on Saturday? I've been making a list, too. I'm going to be working on my son's toddler album (he's 23!), so scrapping 12x12 for the first time in a long while. It may involve some shopping.

This is so off-topic, but anytime I see a mention of Pomona I immediately think of the song "Honeybee" by Tom Petty. It sounds great and I hope you have a blast!

Spent too much at echo park. Like always. Arms were exhausted after the 5 trips of taking my stuff to my room so I didn't walk the whole floor with my bag full of ep goodies. Learned that in spite of acrylic being the term ep usesto describe their stamps, they are actually photopolymer (made in arizona) so I might have picked up 6 sets at $4 each including the last from the 60 or so they brought down from the first disney themed line. Best part so far is that my firestick streams a million times better than home so I am going to try and finish season 2 through 4 of how to get away with murder.
I also went to check the prize booth to make sure i could enter and i had already won a prize! It is $20 to a store selling wood pieces. Can't wait to check it out.

I couldn’t stand being so close and not being at the Expo, so left work mid-afternoon to check it out. DH dropped me off, gave me $100, woohoo!, and picked me up, so I saved $10 and a long walk (or tram ride). The vendor building consists of 4 long aisles of shopping — all of the usuals. Lots of paper, stamps, dies, kits. I hit the Authentique, Echo Park, and Photoplay booths pretty hard. Because you know I need more paper! papersilly, the EP packs were 4 for $20. The Authentique offerings seemed a little sparse this time. It didn’t seem like there were as many vendors, but I can’t say that I missed anyone in particular. There was still plenty to buy. The crop space is beautiful — carpeted, padded chairs, nice and bright. I can’t wait to go back on Saturday. There are 2 different buildings, but they’re close together. Everyone seemed to be happy with the new venue. scrapaddict702, sounds like you’re having a successful trip so far. Hope you get lots done, or at least get lots of r&r!

Last year I mentioned to one of the vendors that the shopping area seemed smaller and he said Expo was trying to make sure they didn't have many booths all selling the same thing.

Also, CK convention is in St. Louis this weekend too, so some vendors pick one and others may split their booth/product between the two shows.

Well I decided to pass this year. Again. By the time I drive out, pay parking, and pay admission I’m better off ordering some stuff online. Plus since the expos now start on Thursday by the time Saturday rolls around some of the sale items and deals are sold out. Anyway, if any of you want to post pictures of your haul I’d love to see what you got.

Or 10 for $40. I usually do that one. I buy doubles of most because I like having both sides of the papers. oaksong, if you park at the sheraton area it is free (no need to have a placard or anything) and just a couple hundred feet from the classrooms. You just need to walk through that building to the shop building. I love the venue being so close to the hotel. It is perfect and so convenient. If they keep it here, I might have to work into our budget how to do this every year. It has been such a fantastic trip thus far. Only leave my room to grab real food (all my snacks are junk food) and browse the shops. Only spent $10 today...not exactly worth the $8 admission but that's okay.

Well, I must say that I was a little disappointed in how small it was... but then I am comparing it to the glory days of the Orange County Expo. I still managed to exceed my budget between Photo Play, Nicole Petersen and Sparkle n Sprinkle. I have to plan to go to the crop next year. Bonus is I get to stay in a hotel with my DD and relax!

scrapaddict702 it sounds like you had a great weekend. I know you were looking forward to this so I’m glad you had fun. What did you get with your Golden Ticket? A few stamps, a set of dies, an oxide ink, nuvo mousse, pen blades, an alcohol ink and the mini misti (can't hate it for free and the compact size will help me make room to stamp easier as I'm a piler while crafting). I picked it because I have been wanting the pen blades of all things. One stamp was backwards to show the branding info and it turned out to be a girl image which was a nice surprise. Small but hopefully will be great for a tn page or small art journal page. I loved the class I took so much that I really want to start doing more mixed media projects. It is more fluid and flexible than my scrapbooking and with kids always around it would be nice to have an outlet that doesn't require me to concentrate as much. I just lack images...mostly I have shape stencils so that girl will be a good start.
