donna, do you have Wordmark.it on your computer? If not, it is free to download and then you can type in a word and all of your fonts that are loaded onto your computer show up with the word you typed in. It is my favorite computer tool. I like Milkshake, Buffalo Nickel, and Stay Outside. I print a copy of all of my fonts with something like Happy Birthday for a quick reference check.

Iguess I am weird. I like variety. What font I use depends on the layout. I do not really have "favorite" fonts that I use over and over. I type up my title, and using either Word or the Silhouette software, using the down arrow will change the title to the next font. When I find a font that I like, I use it.
I have hundreds of fonts installed on my computer. I know some people get overwhelmed by too many options. I like options. The more, the better. It's easier for me to be creative if I have a lot of options to choose from.

I think I have 250 fonts and have used maybe 75 of them. Some are so similar.

scrapnnana I'm with you! I'm a "font junkie" and have hundreds of fonts too. Sometimes I use Fontbook, sometimes Wordmark, but like you, I type whatever it I'm doing, whether it be a title or journaling, and then scroll through until I come across one I like. I don't really have a favourite either, it depends on what I'm working on at the time. I get in trouble when I'm looking for a font that (believe or not) I don't have and find myself browsing through fonts online! So many nice ones out there, available for free! Also, check out thehungryjpeg.com - they have weekly freebies and dollar deals that are amazing!

I'm a font junkie. But the truth is I always end up using Lobster when needing a script font. It just welds so nice and easy. Someday I'll use all those other fonts that I have collected...

OK, those are some great fonts.
Will someone help a newbie out? If I download to my computer, how do I use it with my Cricut Explore Air 2?

Once you that, open design space and add a text box. Select the new font. You can search for the name of the font.

I would click on the font- type the word- then delete if I didn't like it. Then start over till I found one I liked. I am seriously excited right now!!! lol

For big script titles, I LOVE Simply Glamorous (dafont) I give it just a smidge of an offset (like 0.025) and then delete the middle layer. Such a beautiful font. I also like Honey Script, LD Handtastic and Pacifico...but Simply Glamerous is definitely my favorite!

Does it automatically weld the letters together for each word, or is there an additional step? I can weld in Silhouette software, no problem, but I have no idea how to do it on my Explore Air 2.

My all time favorite script font is Samantha. You do have to pay for it, but I know I got it for about $25. Well worth it, as every number, letter, and character has multiple choices for grapheme/glyphs. It cuts very well on my Cameo and lends itself well to plumping up the letters with an offset if need be.
For wafer thin fonts, I tend to use more block style letters, with out lead in flicks. I just find it easier to do script fonts with my Cameo.

I have used Samantha for anything that I want to look a bit more elegant.

For Explore Air 2: You ungroup the letters, move them so they are touching, then use the weld function. You can move them manually or there is a button on the top that you can use to keep moving the letters closer until you are happy.

And I got both the regular (upright) and italic fonts at the same time. I'm not sure if I use it more because I paid good money for it, or because I like it so much. Maybe both?

No you have to weld them. Ungroup first and then shrink the spacing between the letters or drag them till they touch. Then select the word, group and then weld.

I don't see Ballerina or Rochester mentioned. I love them.
Also, a new one that I am super crushing on is Sweet Hipster. This one is a mic drop.
