Holy moly did this week fly by. It's already week 3 of college football. LSU plays the University of Louisiana at Monroe tomorrow. We should win but they are a team with a lot of talent so anything can happen. I remember sometime in the last 8-10 years when they upset Bama in Tuscaloosa so I think that Les Miles and the team are taking them seriously.
Who does your team play?
Geaux Tigers!

Penn State plays at Rutgers tomorrow night for their Big Ten debut. (Rutgers and Maryland just joined the conference.)
Since some of our NCAA sanctions have been lifted as of this past Monday, we need to make sure we win enough games to get a bowl game. Woohoo!
GO LIONS!

Oklahoma plays Tennessee at home. Tennessee is a very young team and Oklahoma is favored by 20 points. Hopefully the Sooners will win!

HUGE interstate rivalry game this weekend! Iowa Hawkeyes host the Iowa State Cyclones at 2:30pm. I'm not even going to speculate because both teams aren't playing that good and this one is going to depend on which teams show up to play. I do have a bet with my brother. He's a Cyclone fan and I'm a Hawkeye fan and we share a birthday that's coming up next week (he's five years, three minutes younger) and we usually don't do gifts, but this year, whomever loses has to buy the other a birthday gift.

Huskers play at Fresno State. The game doesn't start here until 9:00. Hoping I can stay awake for the whole game. And hoping Ameer Abdullah actually gets to touch the ball!

Wow! The ACC has had good games today! Georgia Tech had a comeback win, Virginia won their first conference game in a year, and Virginia Tech lost after a comeback.
Looking forward to Georgia v South Carolina.

The Hawkeyes suck! LOL We lose to an 0-2 team today.....pitiful. They played awful and the Big 12 refs were bad but we played awful, but as the old saying goes "You win some, you lose some." I think the only thing the Hawkeyes do well is produce good NFL players.

Perhaps a Hawkeyes jersey would be the perfect "I'll show you...you may have won the bet, but I will win the war" kind of thing?? LOL

I called him after the game and he said something about me buying him an ISU shirt (which would NEVER happen) but he didn't say anything about a Hawkeye shirt.

LSU beat ULM 31-0 securing their 400th win in Tiger Stadium and first back-to-back home shutouts since 1941. Several big upsets today with [HASH]9 USC losing to Boston College, East Carolina beating [HASH]17 Va Tech, Virginia beating [HASH]21 Louisville and the above-mentioned [HASH]6 Georgia losing to [HASH]24 South Carolina.

Just finished watching the Florida/Kentucky game (since FSU has a bye week). DH''s phone has been blowing up with him and his buddies gloating over how badly Florida was sucking. But the Gators pulled it out. Ugly win!

West Virginia beat Maryland 40-37 on a clutch kick with time expiring. This game always seems to be the bellwether game for us--beating Maryland means we will have a good year; losing to them doesn't bode so well.
It looks like we finally have a quarterback, too! Clint Trickett has been AWESOME so far this year, putting up about 350 on Alabama and the same against Towson before coming out of the game for the backup QB. He had 511 yards against Maryland yesterday with one interception (his only one of the season so far) and four touchdowns.
Now, if we can only get special teams fixed (responsible for about 20 Maryland points yesterday--ugh!).
Next week we welcome Oklahoma for their second visit to Mountaineer Field. Last time they were here, Tavon Austin had a ridiculous game (572 all purpose yards), but we weren't able to pull out the win. I'll settle for spreading the yards around to a few more players if we can get a W this time.
I'm looking forward to the Oklahoma fans visiting. They were great last time!
