Ds and I are going to NYC in August. A couple of years ago (pre-Sandy), dd and I visited South Street Seaport, and loved it. I loved the views, restaurants, the cool sail boats in the marina, and we lucked out and were there on a market day - lots of awesome food and craft vendors. I also really like that TKTS booth (shorter lines, opens earlier) - I know the TKTS booth is open again, but I'm wondering what the general condition of the area is like?
If the area is in reasonably good shape, I think ds would enjoy it. We would hit the TKTS booth, have lunch, and browse a bit - just wondering if it's worth the time.

I haven't been there since the repairs, but I ALWAYS use that TKTS booth when visiting NY. I've never even bothered to explore the area. I love the much shorter lines and the ability to buy both same-night AND next-day-matinee tickets there. Then, later, feeling smug, we scoff at the long lines at the booth in Times Square.

Thank you, Amelia Just bumping to see if anyone has any recent info about the South Street Seaport area - it's definitely my favorite TKTS booth - last time I was in NYC it was closed and we had to brave the Times Square booth!
