I've been watching Justine Hovey's Five day of foiling and it made me have the foiling bug. Create something with your foiling. If you don't have access to do your own foiling, use something with foil. **ETA*** joblackford mentioned Jennifer McGuire's videos where she doesn't use a laminator, so I thought I'd link to not only hers but others I found. Maybe this will be helpful to those who have foil, but not the laminator or just don't want to mess with it. youtu.be/7rbG0VsmtvM J McGuire youtu.be/qLruSaQQbVs Stamped Silly by Jen Arkfeld

Thanks, LisaDV. This is MY kinda challenge! Need to use my Minc more. Or even some of my glue on foils. Will try to add this to the April challenges list thread.

Here are a set of 4 cards, but only 2 have foil. Cards feminine by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr The card on the left has a foil banner with Happy Birthday on it. Cards masculine by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr The bottom card is the left over foil sheet as the background. It's really so cool IRL. I have 2 more that I can't share yet.

I'm afraid my foil of choice will be aluminum foil, as it is my only choice at the moment. I have some ideas, but I'm nervous about how they'll pan out...

I'm afraid my foil of choice will be aluminum foil, I've actually used a LOT of aluminum foil in my card making hey day. I'd use alcohol ink on it. Also I'd fold it over and over to get thickness and then dry stencil it. It was my only choice of foil when everyone was using metal foils with different techniques years and years ago. So I was making do too. I also stamped with staz-on on it. I'm just reminiscing.

I'm going to try to do this. I was just testing my brother digital printer for foiling and it seems to work. I'll look for the videos.

If anyone has some foil but no minc or laminator, maybe from a kit or something (like me, who bought some cheap at Tuesday Morning), Jennifer McGuire has a video on how to use foil without heating/laminating it. I guess I should try it.

I actually have some gold leafing that I got on clearance when a local hobby shop went out of business. I should try it too. I think the only time I used it was when dd had a Halloween costume that required a gold tooth. LOL. It was on a mask. I didn't gold leaf her actual tooth.

Too bad I used that piece of paper with the bronze foil on it I used for China's challenge. Don't know if I have anything else.

gale w , it sounds like you have foiling opportunities galore. joblackford , thanks for giving the idea. I'm including links to no laminator videos by her in the opening thread. myboysnme , Look in weird places, like your stickers may have some or I had washi with foil on it.

Does anyone sell good quality backgrounds for printing? I have some freebies but they're low quality so there's some pixelation.

Does anyone sell good quality backgrounds for printing? I have some freebies but they're low quality so there's some pixelation. I used digital products. There was an old black and white chevron freebie pack that worked great. Then I just went through my digital products and looked for pieces I thought would work well. I created my own simple shapes. What are you looking for?

Something like a full background like the gina k foil mates. Like Justine used in the first video.

It only took me a couple of tries to get a card finished for this challenge and now it is too dark to photograph it. I ended up gluing the foil right onto the pp.

Something like a full background like the gina k foil mates. Like Justine used in the first video. Gale - on Stamp TV, Gina K has a freebie of some black and white patterned papers to print: www.stamptv.ning.com/page/freebies-2 It's a pdf file of 8-1/2 x 11 pages. You might need to register as a member to get to them; they're quite a ways down on the page (these are from before she was doing the foil-mates, but as best I can tell they've got good resolution - magnified them quite a bit on my screen and didn't get any pixelation). Not sure why that link isn't working, but if you follow it to the "page not found" message and then click on "freebies" on the menu bar, you'll get to the page.

here's mine! i used a rubon foiling kit by heidi swapp i got on clearance at hobby lobby. the foiling didn't turn out amazing, it's kind of patchy, but i actually like that look so i'm ok with it also for the black & white + one challenge, so 4 points! my forever and ever by sadkid, on Flickr grammadee love your birthday cards! the foiling looks great!

grammadee, I love the foil sticking out of your letters? I thought you had a bit of embossing around the letter until I read that you used a white uniball to outline. Very pretty. I also like the emoji card, especially your glossy accent glasses and that party hat. stinkerbelle, Love this. I like the hot pink dots on the black cardstock. And you can use it for the black + white + one color challenge too.

Here is my just completed foil layout. It has a foil mat on 2 photos, 2 foil embellies, foil washi tape and some foil on the letters. 2 for kiwis girls

myboysnme I love the colours, especially the purple, it works so well with your dress, and I love the little pops of foil. Also - double page + posting + doing the challenge = 5 points. Not that I'm competitive and want us to win or anything

Love your page, myboysnme. The foiling is the perfect accent for these photos. I used foil on this page as well, but it kind of got lost under the piece it was supposed to be matting. I used Heidi Swapp Minc foil, but attached it with double sided tape. Choose happiness 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Well, I've been MIA this past week. Just been busy. myboysnme, Fabulous double page (and what Karen says, "5 points"). I love the foil touches in so many areas. That background paper is perfect for your layout. grammadee, you're doing fab with all of your mixed media. Those trees are so cute. I really like how you just used a sheet of foil as a mat.
