So. I just had a chat with the owner of Echo Park Paper. I asked him about the possibility of manufacturing 9x12 page protectors. He said I am the very first person to ever ask him about them and that no shop has ever asked about them. They are ALL I see design team people using for Project Life and we bring it up here constantly.
He told me they have to order 50,000 whenever they order a single configuration. I also asked about albums. I was asked to pass along his email address (madison@echoparkpaper.com) for people to reach out and tell him that there is indeed a huge market for them that he doesn't know about. So, let's email him and tell him not only that we want EP to make them but what configurations we would buy AND links to accounts of people or businesses that show DT members' projects in this size.
He passed me along to someone who said she doesn't follow youtube to see how prevalent it is. I think he wanted to pacify me thinking I was nuts. Let's prove him wrong and reach out. He is asking for proof of demand...if we show it to him, he will make it.

Emailing now. I also think people should email WRMK. I think they would make them too if enough people let them know there is a demand.
Their email is

My question is...how in the world are they not aware of how huge the demand is for these? Seems unbelievable.

What really bothers me is that it shows that the people making the products for our industry are completely clueless. If you aren't customer centric, you're going to fail.

What really bothers me is that it shows that the people making the products for our industry are completely clueless. If you aren't customer centric, you're going to fail. Seriously, how are they not keeping their finger on the market's pulse? This is ridiculous. No wonder Becky H. comes across as being in tune with her customers if major manufacturers aren't hiring a decent social media coordinator. Part-time freelance would suffice. This is an industry based on a craft that is female-dominated and family-centric. It's no headache to figure out these women are connecting with each other online where most of the shopping gets done, especially considering the survival of design teams and creative teams. Ugh, they're just handing over the hot trends to those who do keep an eye on whatever's going on, giving away access to loads of money to companies like Inked who know they can get away with escalating price tags and declining quality because there's literally no competition. Stop assuming your customers will do your research for you and bring it to you!

I have been making my own 9x12 page protectors out of 12x12 design A type page protectors. I just fuse two of the 4x6 slots closed, if that makes sense. I've also done it with the 12x12 kind that have six 4x6 spaces, and just fuse the right 3 slots into 3x4. I buy my WRMK page protectors at Tuesday Morning for $3, which are the best quality in my opinion. I refused to be ripped off by SC who charges $10 for their crappy quality ones!

I’d be happy to email both companies but since I don’t do much PL I need to know what it is I’m asking for. Are these pocket configurations or just a different size of standard page protector?
I agree with the above posters. Someone in these companies should be checking to see what their customer base wants.. I think one of the problems is that there isn’t that much competition and they know very well that people will buy what their companies make simply because that’s all that’s available. If they were listening there would be less pink and more OA style market alphas.

I'm almost tempted to start an IG account called whatscrapbookerswant. Multiple weekly polls, photos of the hot trends that need to make it to the big companies sold in LSS and international retailers, etc. artisticscrapper I think the 9x12 trend means those without a Fuse tool are stuck buying both page protectors and albums from Studio Calico, the only company offering that size. It's become the go-to size for many PL scrappers over the past few years and we're absolutely puzzled why none of the big companies in the industry that offer albums + PPs (WRMK, American Crafts, Becky Higgins, EPP, Simple Stories) are getting in on the trend and serious cash up for grabs. Heck, even 9x12 LOs are on the rise.

I am not even a pocket scrapbooker, I only do traditional layouts and I have a stock pile of 9x12 albums. It is such a great size. Hopefully pea power will inspire at least one maintsream company to get crack a lackin on making these!

I might be in the minority but I really love the 8.5x11 size too. I wish W R Memory Keepers kept making a lot of those sizes. I mix them with the 9x12s

Are we writing Madison a short please-make-this-thank-you email or are we actually typing our needs out for this? I'm ready to link him up left and right and give him some explanations about 9x12 but I don't see the point in that if he's not interested or if everyone else is going to bombard him with this information. scrapaddict702 Since you met Mr Parker, could you give us your feel? Should we go for something lengthier?

To Whom It May Concern:
Please go to the 2peas discussion board to learn what your customers are interested in. 9x12 albums and page protectors are items that are mentioned constantly and, currently, only Inked (seriously) sells them. Please do not continue to force us to spend our money with them. Also, bring some thick skin because we are not wearing our rose colored glasses when we post our thoughts and opinions on what we want to see. You stand to make a great deal of money by supplying us with what we want/need. Be prepared for an influx of orders. We are awesome.
Thank you in advance!

I'm a 9x12 ride or die bitch, but maybe we really are in a very small vacuum but don't realize it because it's so popular here? It is THE BEST size so I'm stunned someone hasn't picked it up and ran with it. I do not want Inked Brands getting any of my $$$ if I can help it.

Should we go for something lengthier? I think you could get his attention by simply declaring a want for 9x12 and then go into detail about what exactly below. That way if he is tallying he can reference the specifics later but can easily identify that we want 9x12 options. It is the new american letter size. 12x12 wasn't the norm a couple of decades ago...someone had to take the chance and see if it took off becaue 8 1/2 x 11 was the thing until then. Now look at the dominant sizes. A non wholesaling retailer with a crappy reputation like SC isn't going to really test the market the way a high quality company like EP or Simple Stories (he said he thinks they use the same supplier) can.

I've also reached out in the past to Simple Stories and We R Memory Keepers about 9x12 and never heard back.
