I waited an interminable amount of time to kiss the Blarney Stone, but it was a beautiful day in a beautiful setting so I really didn't mind.

I waited for the release of Deathly Hallows ... but it wasn't a line ... it was more of a party

I waited in line for almost 2 hours for the new Avatar ride at Disney. They finally got us on a midnight and said they would keep running the ride until everyone got on.
I would wait in line for Andrea Boccelli and Genesis tickets.

My very favorite band Marillion come to Washington DC to play at the 9:30 Club every 4 years. I love the venue because it's small and because it's not assigned seating. I go early and stand in line about 2-3 hours so I can get up front or lately I've been going to the balcony to choose the best spot. I don't mind waiting in line for Marillion. They are worth it.
Other than that I can't remember waiting in line for anything else.

I have very little patience for long lines. I def won’t wait in a ridiculously long line just to get something for free. We never do the free whatever days around here because I do not want to wait in the lines.

When Portillo's opened in Arizona, DH made us go to opening day. We waited more than 2 hours. Outside. In May. In Phoenix. With my 3 year old in tow. I still cash in points for that one Side note: I do not understand all the love for this place. At all.

DD and I waited several hours in line to get a good spot at a general admission Mumford and Sons concert when they played Hoboken. We waited hours outside the park and then several more inside before the concert started. We were in about the 7th "row" even though there weren't real rows -- just tons of people crammed into a too small space.

I have little tolerance for waiting in lines generally speaking, but I'm willing to occasionally suck it up for something interesting. I've waited in line for 6 or more hrs each for: being in The Price is Right audience a few days before Bob Barker retired, getting into ComiCon Hall H (the big hall with all the popular panels), being one of the first to put a deposit on a Tesla Model 3, and the NYC Hamilton cancellation tickets line (totally worth it - got 2nd row!).

I have stood in long lines for just about everything at Disneyland and will gladly do it again and again.
Cabbage Patch dolls for my kids back in the day is and thing I remember really long lines. Also, Black Friday lines in the days before Amazon.

Waiting on line at Disney World back in the day is about the only experience I can think of that I willingly waited a long time.
My best girl friend and I were in Key West on a cruise in February and the line for a photo at the "southernmost point" of the US was two blocks long. We both readily agreed that was a no go. I've had photos made there in the past and they'll just have to do.

I don't get it at all. Yeah. I went on a girls weekend about a month ago. On the way home we had to stop for lunch. Two of the ladies on our trip INSISTED on going to this place because they loooove it. I had never been before. It was quite the ridiculous line to wait in for a mediocre hamburger. I’m not doing that again! And one of the ladies got back in line to get an entire chocolate cake for her kids! They’re Nuts!

I waited in line for an insane deal on TV's on Black Friday a few years back. I saved a ton, but I won't do it again. Waited in line several hours to get my kids into the best pre-k programs.
We were at the pre-grand opening of Harry Potter world and waited a LOOONGGG time for everything. To get in, every ride, wands at Olivanders etc. By the time we got to the front of the line for Butterbeer we were all nauseous from the heat and dueling dragons roller coaster. We skipped the butter beer and got water because we just knew we would get sick drinking something so sweet with our stomachs already churning.
anndddd I waited in line for the port-a-potty at an outdoor Dave Matthews concert for what felt like about a week. It was probably an hour and a half, but it seriously was the longest wait of my life.

Spurs basketball tickets when they made the finals in 99. I actually know that this was 6/25/1999 My daughter was born at Wilford Hall in San Antonio that morning. I'm not a basketball fan so I swear the nurses would be in & out of my room as fast as possible while that final game was on to get to one where it was playing. You could hear people on the entire floor cheering when they won. Baseball is a whole 'nother story! I plan my whole life around the Red Sox schedule from April to October. I went to dinner & a movie tonight with a friend because I told her "can't" go Tues, Wed or Thurs this week, it's the first Sox/Yankees series of the season and she couldn't do Friday. I've waited in line for tickets back before you could get them online, to get things signed, rides, or to get a decent spot (preferably right behind a railing) at general admission shows. I'm usually not a fan of crowds or lots of noise, but I LOVE concerts.

Now that I think of it, my BFF and I waited in a pretty long line for Krispy Kreme donuts once back in the day. But the upside to that was they had employees walking up and down the line passing out free donuts that were fresh and hot to everyone while we waited. And LOL once we got up to the front of the line to order, I said something like, “We came from ten states away to get these donuts!” So they gave us an extra dozen for free!

I've waited in line to buy a Furby (total waste).
I've waited in lines for rides at amusement parks and to meet characters at Disney. The longest lines we waited in were Star Wars weekends to meet all the Star Wars characters but it was the highlight of my son's life so seeing his face during and the photos after was 100% worth it.

And we liked to catch away games on TV. That's 90+ games a season. No where near what you get with baseball, right? Would love to catch a game at Fenway, I'd wait in line for that for sure.

Regular season of baseball is 162 games! I'm more relaxed about missing a game here and there mid season, and then get more crazy as they get closer to post season. Fenway Park is one of my favorite places on the planet. I live in CO now, so don't get to see many live Red Sox games. I was back home last summer and went to a game with my nephew, we had a blast and lucked into meeting Chris Sale.

When I was in high school, I waited overnight for Bruce Springsteen tickets. This was back in the ticketmaster counter in the back of the sporting goods store era. It was 16-17 hours.
In October, I waited 3ish hours for the start of the Amazing Race.
Plus lines at Disney, delayed flights, doctors who run late.

That's almost half a year, crazy. The wives and partners of these men must not get to see them much! We are for sure visiting Fenway when we go to Boston in a couple of years. DH grew up riding his bike to Rangers games in Arlington, so he's a big fan. But you should have seen him touching the field at Yankee Stadium. To this day one of my favorite pics of him. That is so cool that you got to meet him! And a memory for your nephew forever. Just amazing! DH worked at a sporting goods store in the Dallas area in school, and sold gloves or something to Cal Ripkin, Jr. Got him to sign a receipt. I might have thought it was trash and thrown it away when I came across it. 20+ years ago and I still feel horrible. We've met many Spurs in town, and some Steelers when we traveled to New Orleans to see them. But no (other) baseball players. Guess it's time to go to more games! We will be in Colorado next year for the Ironman race in Boulder and will definitely plan on going to a game. I think as a traveler it's fun to go to games. But I don't know if we moved to say, San Francisco we would have much fun going to a lot of Warriors games. Our blood bleeds silver & black

I still cash in points for that one Some peas may not appreciate this like I do now that I have lived here 4 years. Before moving here I heard "May" and I thought of pretty flowers, nice day temps and cool nights. To give perspective - today it is April 10th. It hit 97 degrees. Jen - you better cash in points for a good, long time for that.

I waited in line for hours for books 4-7 of Harry Potter. Until book 6 I hadn't read any of the previous books. DH was out of town on business for the first one. No school the next day. We saw the line in Walmart and people were playing games etc. We thought that would be fun so we waited in line.

Back when my son was little, I did the toys r us black friday line. Then it changed hours to like midnight, I was done. DH still went with my 2 Black Friday loving nieces and my teen nephew for a few years.
Now I wait to inline at the grocery store. I actually switched to Meijers because Walmart lines were horrendous, but it may be time to switch again.

There's a really good restaurant in town that doesn't take reservations. We waited there once for almost two hours. I wouldn't do it again.
Honestly, there is almost nothing I'm willing to stand in line for, for more than a few minutes.

Thanks for responding everyone. I loved reading everyone’s answers. I am in Maine for a few days and we were going to check out the Ben and Jerry’s in Ogunquit but never got around to it. But I am guessing there were not any two hour lines to be found. It probably would have been a great year to take part in the free cone day. Like many others, most of my line waiting has been for concert tickets and amusement parks. One of my most memorable ticket waits was one of the overnight (20 hours) to get tickets to David Bowie’s Serious Moonlight tour in Gothenburg Sweden. It was an adventure back then, it would be painful these days.

we stood on line at checkpoint alpha - between West Germany and East Germany - for 6hours (and then we went thru in a convoy of vehicles - this was spring of 1990 - the wall was officially down but it was still a very strained relationship between the East and West) we were on our way to Berlin to see Roger Waters recreate The Wall concert at Potsdamer Platz i was in the army - i was used to 'hurry up and wait' now - i won't stand in line for much gina Thank you for your service Gina.

Tuesday April 10th is Ben and Jerry's free cone day. Since B&J started here in Burlington, we have been having free cone day for a lot of years. You can always tell when it is free cone day even if you didn't hear about it prior to the day because of the LONG lines at their shops. Sometime there can be a two hour wait. There was an article in our paper about this and it asked what other things would you stand in long lines for? I have stood in line for a cone, but I do not think I would wait for two hours. I have waited in line for hours and even slept out overnight to get concert tickets.I have waited in line for an hour plus to get some beer. But truthfully these days there are not many things that immediately come to mind where I would be willing to wait in long lines like that anymore. I am not a Black Friday shopper at all. Are you willing to wait in long lines and if so for what types of things or events? I've slept out for concert tickets (I'm guessing we are similar ages ). I've never been to Disney so I've never waited in a super long line for a ride. I'm not sure there's a ton I'd be willing to stand in a long line for.

In 2003 we were looking to buy a block of land to build a new house in a newly developed estate in an area we liked. The land was released in small lots of only about 30 or 40 blocks at a time so it was first come first served and there was a lot of competition for the land.
The first block we wanted to buy we missed out on and we were number 5 in the line but the couple who bought the block were number 3!
So we found out when the next release was going to be and we camped out in the sales office carpark to get our option 2 block for 10 days!
Yes I kid you not DH slept there in a friends caravan and we spent all our time there. DH was there much more than me as we had two teenagers at home who needed supervision as well.
We got our block and built a lovely home on it. Certainly would not "stand in line" again like that.
