Things I have glued down have come loose. Isn't this supposed to be permanent? Am I doing something wrong?

You are not doing anything wrong. I tried one (until it ran out) and stuff was falling off a month later. I could never figure out if I was using it wrong or something because people seemed to rave about it on here...

I have had it for awhile, and seemed to work good until now.

Mine is actually pretty old but it still works well. I just found there are 2 types—ball point and chisel tip. I have the ballpoint. I’m wondering if there’s a difference in formula due to the delivery.

The Zig blue chisel tip was one of the first adhesives I used when I started scrapping years ago. Everything has fallen off and I would most definitely not recommend it. I use Tombow mono multi (with the green caps) as my liquid adhesive now and love it!

My ball point glue pen stopped working this month and I'm not going to replace it. I have Mono Multi and I'll stick with that. I've found a few die cuts that I used my ball point glue pen on and the pieces aren't sticking. Ugh.

I made cards to sell using the Zig, should I worry about the cards falling apart?

I only use a pen type glue as a base for heat emboss. To stick things together I would use a good bottle type glue and apply with a toothpick, and let it set and cure overnight.

I use Tombow mono multi (with the green caps) as my liquid adhesive now and love it! Same. Everything I ever made with one of those zig chisel tip glue pens eventually fell apart. I stopped using them over 20 years ago. I haven’t EVER had anything glued with the green cap Tombow Mono Multi glue come apart, and that’s been my adhesive of choice ever since.

I made cards to sell using the Zig, should I worry about the cards falling apart? Eventually everything I assembled with that glue fell apart. Sorry. I think drastic changes in humidity with the seasons like we have where I live exacerbates it too.

I used the Zig pens and loved them. That is until things started coming apart. When I cleaned my room they all (even the unopened ones) went into the trash. I could never get the Tombow Mono glue to come out properly and it kept clogging. So far I'm liking the Tonic Deluxe Adhesive. Next time I place an order somewhere I'm going to try their glue pen.

I use the chisel tip one every time I scrap to glue something together...usually Thickers or paper diecuts. In the 19 years I've scrapped, nothing is falling off pages.

I've never had a problem with it.

I've been using Zig glue pens for almost 17 years, and I've never had anything fall off or come apart. I use the ballpoint pen for intricate die cuts and letters, and I've even found a way to refill it with other types of glue. The only reason I don't buy the chisel tip anymore is that it gets bits of dried glue all over the tip and makes a sticky mess. I don't use Zig glue for heavy things, though.

If you don't use enough, or let it dry out a bit before sticking things down, it will be temporary. That is why it is 2 way glue. It can be either temporary or permanent.
Use more glue and stick it down while wet, and you'll get better results. I've used it for years, but I am pretty liberal with the glue. When I use too little, stuff will come off. When I use more, it stays stuck. I've been using it for a lot of years.
