I am thinking about getting an electronic cutter like a Cricut Explore or Silhoutte or whatever, but I have sort of specific needs. I am wondering if you have used your machine to emboss small, fine text. Probably like 14 point font. I want to emboss the sinfo into the invite for something fun and cheap. (YEAH, the machine is pricey, but I will get my value out of it between invites and general scrappiness). The main thing is it has to be pressure embossed, it can't use embossing inks/dies. Has anyone done something like this successfully?
I tried to Google for details, but because my question is a bit specific, I didn't get great answers. I did see a tutorial with a Cricuit and a scoring stylus but the detail was pretty wide. The video showed a pink stylus, is there a thinner stylus for fine lines?
And if this is just a pipe dream, has anyone ever had wafer thin custom dies successfully made? That's my fallback!

So I don't know anyone who would custom make wafer thin dies, but I have an alternative suggestion if nothing else works out for you. You can get a custom photopolymer letterpress plate made from Boxcar Press. I did this for a friend's invitations and it turned out well with lots of fine details. (This would deboss though, not emboss.) If you have a manual die cut machine, you could figure out the correct shims to use to apply the right pressure. I personally have the WRMK L Letterpress base, but if you're blind debossing (meaning doing it without ink), you could easily do without the base. I can pull out the plate I made to do a couple trial runs and post a picture, if you're interested.

I don't know if this would help. I remember awhile back some of the girls over at SplitCoastStampers were talking about custom made thin wafer dies. Those girls do have extensive knowledge on dies and the manufacturers. Don't be shy to ask them. I know SCS can have a reputation but there are the sweetest girls over there. I post too. A lot of girls over here cross-post to both forums. Hope that helps.
