This is my scrappy mojo right here. I've done my usual tricks to get into a scrappy frame of mind: getting new photos printed, checking out sketches on Pinterest, watching process videos on YouTube. I haven't bought new products yet, but I just bought some last month, and I honestly have plenty. I guess I'll turn my attention elsewhere. The laundry needs doing. But it's sad when you make time to scrap and can't get anything done.

My mojo is lost more than it's found. After all these years I just go with the flow.

There's just one photo. It's a meme.

I cant see the meme but I’m in the same boat. I’m going to work on the page I started last night. I’m hoping to push through the block this time.

I went to a class last Saturday. It was a travel book. One of the people (Layle Koncar) who works for Simple Stories was in Colorado and led the class. Oh my gosh, it was nice to have an entire book made in 4 hours. It was also a great blueprint for creating other books with all of the fun little extra pages. It got my mojo flowing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHme4JMBCqI. Here is a video of the final product.

I have accepted that I go thru phases... that might not be for everyone, but for me, it's how my creativity ebbs and flows. I could never be one of those '15 minutes a day' people, because when I create, I want to be in the mode to create for HOURS at a time. Trying to squeeze it in every day isn't enough time for me to get in the flow / meditative / productive state that I associate with creativity.
I go thru a 'collecting' phase where I look for things that inspire me, collect sketches, read blogs, surf Pinterest, etc. (okay, I also collect supplies, lol). I also go through an 'organizing' phase where my focus is on cleaning, looking thru my stash, re-organizing, taking out things I'm no longer inspired by, etc. And I have an actual scrapping phase. When I don't have the time or inclination to actually 'create' things, I have found that I can't force it, or nothing turns out like I want and I get frustrated.

crimsoncat05 - I go through phases too...and that's okay. UNfortunately right now seems to be a non-creative phase but life is also super busy with the end of school approaching so...

I would do something else that inspires you right now. It’ll come back. 😃

I would do something else that inspires you right now. It’ll come back. 😃 I had a page that blocked my creativity for most of March. When I finally put it away, I was productive for the first half of April (before life got in the way) and was even able to tackle that page after a few weeks of not looking at it. I agree that your best solution might be to walk away and do something else for awhile. Scrapping needs to be a treat, not a chore.

950 nancy - Thank you so much for the link to the travel album. Due to my kids being in high school and me feeling like I have less to scrapbook about, I have not set foot in my craft room in six months. I have had no desire at all to scrapbook since they were what I scrapped about - never my husband and I. But I loved that travel album and just ordered it to put my CA pictures in from 3 years ago (of just me and my hubby!) Maybe this is what I need to jump start scrapbooking again.

Oh you should scrap about yourself. I’m sure there are things your kids want to know about you, funny stories or defining moments. I wish I knew more about my mom as a person. So I try to get myself in there too. Your life is important too😃.

I know. But I find my life so boring! I was so good about having albums for both of my kids and scrapping chronilogically. Now they are being difficult teens and I really don't feel like doing it anymore - ha! Plus their life is really their own story now and they don't share alot. Also it was starting to feel a little like a chore to keep up. We will see how this evolves. I ordered the album so I am going to see how I feel after I finish putting it together.

I have a hard time as well, mostly due to mental crap lol. I like to grab a photo that inspires me and build a mini page kit around it. Usually my kids or pets.I do also look at my Pinterest board a lot for ideas, although I struggle with finding multi photo lo's on there.

My mojo is lost more than it's found. After all these years I just go with the flow. Mine too. I just am too drained from life - raising kids as a single mom, working my job, etc - to have energy to give to my scrapping. I try to leave a layout on my desk and just putter with it here and there until it's done or I'm sick of looking at it.

i have always gone through phases of no mojo and have just learned to accept it and wait it out. i happen to be in a productive phase at the moment, and i know it's because the more i make, the more i want to make. plus i keep buying this stuff so i need to use at least some of it

Mojo is affected by what is happening in your life. The more you are able to craft, the more likely your mojo will thrive. Any major life upheaval can derail it. At least, that is what happened to mine. It went on vacation and has only made rare one day visits.
"Creativity is like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets."
One of the most creative teachers at the LSS told me that. Her grandmother used to say it to her.
The more time you set aside to actually craft, the more likely your mojo will return. Having friends join you can also help.
Visiting the LSS, finding online scrappers that inspire you can help, too, but only if you make yourself actually craft, with or without mojo. It will come back. The creativity muscle has to be exercised, sometimes a lot, to get stronger, but like any exercise, if you put in the effort, you usually get the results.
I know I just need to make myself scrapbook regularly. I never glue anything down till I am satisfied. That gives me the freedom to rearrange, add new elements, to keep adjusting till it really does look right. Once I get a layout that I can feel good about, I have a greater desire to keep scrapbooking.
