And where are you from? DH and I are a bit curious about this word.
If you do not mind answering, do you change pronunciations from your default pronunciation?

I pronounce it with the l almost silent. Its more like Sa- mon then SAL-mon. but there is a bit of an l sound there.
I grew up in the midwest, though I lived in the UK and Cayman for 15 years... and now live in North Carolina. My accent is all mixed up.
But I think I pronounce it like my family.

sa'men, I'm from a lot of places; never heard it pronounced any other way unless someone was mispronouncing it by vocalizing the L.

Sam-in
I'm from WA- I grew up in an area popular for fishing for salmon. I worked at a resort in the summers and that's the only way I've ever heard it pronounced.

Sa mon. The L is silent. Rhymes with one. I'm trying really hard to make these words rhyme in my head, but it's just giving me a headache. Did anyone see the episode of Sam and Cat where they get sued by Salmon Cat? That's all I can think of right now, lol. Salmon Cat sues Sam and Cat bc their business names sound exactly the same when said out loud.

I say it without the L. I grew up in the country in the South. Most of my relatives pronounce the L though.

Now I live in the South. I've heard it with the L and without.
