I got one a while back and returned it, because I couldn't figure out how to get the settings right.

Thx. I don’t need another die cutting machine anyway.

I have one and don’t use it. I find it hard to open the sides to get it all of the way open to use. I also find it hard to change the knob to different settings. It is hard to turn. I had a chart for the different settings I had made, since it was kind of hit or miss to know what settings to use to cut things. Of course, I misplaced the chart. I find the Sizzix Big Shot Express much easier to use.

I have this and I do not like it. The handle keeps coming off while in use. And changing different settings is not good. I usually tried 3-4 times before I could figure out the correct setting for the die I used.So that was alot of wastage for papers.
I used it for few days but at the end gave up and bought sizzix big shot.

Bought this at Tuesday Morning last week, with the electric motor. Love it, after getting the setting right for my dies.

I have had this machine for over 2 years and I love it. However, I recommend using a Sizzix platform and cutting pads with it. I dislike the platform and cutting pads it comes with. Personally, I use the Sizzix magnetic platform, but you could use the multi purpose one too. This is possible because the height of the opening is adjustable. I almost never fuss with the height settings, unless I'm embossing wafer thin dies. The motor is fantastic. At the time this came out, the only other real option was the Vagabond and I had heard too many stories about sandwiches getting stuck in the Vagabond and wrecking the machine. What I like about this is that the motor is separate, so if I ever were to burn out the motor, I could buy another one, without having to buy a brand new machine. I also like that I have the possibility to hand crank if I need it. In my opinion, it's an underrated machine. I would absolutely purchase it again and actually just bought a backup motor at Tuesday Morning since they were only $20.

Why are they at Tuesday morn? Discontinued? Is it meant to be used with all dies and plates?

I guess it depends on if you already have one or not. I have a bigkick vintaj (a specific coloring of the machine) that I got on clearance for $25 a few years back, so I can't justify buying another machine.
I did finally find one lone set of the Thickers Alignment guides at mine yesterday (seems they restocked on a bunch of the wrmk stuff they've been carrying the past few months) so I'm really excited about that.

I went to Tuesday Morning yesterday. They had the machine, but no motor. I assume the motor is something to add, and that it does NOT come with the machine?

I got one and haven't opened the box.. She said I could return it if I changed my mind. Now I am wondering??? I don't have any other machines.. Old Big Red is long gone. I'm getting an electronic one from my mom but not sure when that will happen. Should I keep it or not? Uggg. I bought a couple of dies as well.

I'm getting an electronic one from my mom but not sure when that will happen. Should I keep it or not? Uggg. I bought a couple of dies as well. I bought mine on clearance last year from Hobby Lobby. I too didn't have any other die cutting machines. I like being able to switch the height with just the turn of a button and not having to figure out the sandwich thing everyone talks about with the other machines. Now, in all honesty I'm not a big die cutter or a stamper. I use mine for simple shapes and what not just for scrapbooking. So for me I'm happy with it and it suits my purposes!
