Thanks for the advice. Looks like I have to get the mesh bags and hopefully they will help We basically only have Triumph and Playtex brands, which are not cheap bras. There is only one bra that I wear that fits properly so I buy 2 or 3 at a time. I only wear a bra for 2 to 3 months and then the wire pops. I do admit that I put the bras in the tumble dryer but normally when the wires come out it happens in the washing machine. Putting them in the dryer might be part of the problem. I never put mine in the dryer. It's easy to hang them to dry and I think so much better on the elastic and other parts of the bra. Even though you said the wire pops out after the wash cycle the damage could be happening in the previous drying cycles. Maybe try that for awhile and see if it helps?

If your washer has an agitator, you may need to start handwashing.

Yup. I'm a 34DD, so I really need that underwire. I wash them with my regular load of clothes (no special gentle cycle) and then hang them to dry. I put them in a mesh bag so that I'm reminded not to accidentally throw them in the dryer. They come out great & nothing happens to them (even if it does, I bought them at Kohl's and could return them at any time!).

I wear Soma bras, and wash them in a lingerie bag, each one in an individual bag. I also air dry them. I haven't had a problem with them. I did have problems with Victoria's Secret bras in the past. I just bought a couple Soma bras. I normally wear Natori. OMG the Soma vanishing back bra is so comfortable!

I just throw mine in the washer with the rest of my clothes. I hang to dry. I’ve not had a wire pop out of a bra in a couple of years. It usually takes a few years of wear before this happens to me. Sorry I’m not more help!

I've found that VS underwires twist and bend easily, and cacique/Lane Bryant wires pop out easily. I'm not particularly gentle with them, but also don't think it's unreasonable to expect expensive undergarments to survive normal wear and machine washing and drying.
I recently bought some new bras from JCPenney. After discounts they came out to be around $15 each and are very similar in style to the VS. Do far they are holding up better than VS, and were 1/3 the price.

I probably should not admit this, but I've got one favorite bra that I wear quite often that is 8+ years old. A $12 strapless from Walmart, believe it or not. The underwire has never moved a fraction and is still solidly in place. No holes or anything.
I wash it in a mesh bag with my regular clothes and hang to dry. After all these years and wear, it's still in really good shape. I expect to get another 8 years or more out of it. (I hope, because I can't find another one like it anywhere.)

The heat breaks down the elastic in the fabric. I never use a mesh bag and have no issues. But no dryer!
