I've got some sewing projects to do, so I'm setting a challenge. Sewing or crafting of any kind!
Since most layouts take me less than 1 hour to do, the points for this challenge are 1 hour of sew/craft time = 1 point.

I'm leaving for town today where I have reserved a hotel room for tonight and tomorrow night so that I can have some quality alone time with my crafts. I've got my quilt, some pillow cover materials, and my microwave bowl cozies all packed up. I also have some fabric to piece a winter quilted shawl for myself, but doubt I get that far. I'm also packing my stamps and dies to organize. (organization challenge) I won't get it all finished but it's so much better to have variety.

LisaDV - I cut strips of corrugated cardboard the width of a ruler using a box cutter. Then I rolled the first strip tightly into a spiral and secured with masking tape. Butted the next strip against the end of the first and secured with masking tape and rolled it tightly around the first. Repeat until you have a circle big enough to use as a cat scratcher. My cats love it - I love not throwing away the boxes - BUT it's hard on the hands (at least MY arthritic hands. Our local Girl Scouts made a whole bunch at a lock-in recently and donated to the animal shelter as a service project.

This is what I sewed yesterday. I sew without patterns so it's always a crapshoot if it is going to need adjustments. But this one he loved just as it is!

Linda, that's so clever. Maybe I could get my cat to use that instead of an old chair. myboysnme, without a pattern! You are talented. I tried that when the kids wanted a Jedi robe, but it didn't work out.

I almost have the bowl cozies finished. I'm about 8 hours into them. I broke a needle and called it quits. But it's just the top finishing seam on 6 cozies left. So I should finish tomorrow evening. Then I can share some photos.
