I need to dye some clear glass marbles for work, I am assuming alcohol inks will work, but I have never actually used them. How long will they take to dry and do I need to seal them somehow? I hope no to the sealing, because I am not sure how I would do that! Also, why does no one sell solid color translucent glass marbles? Everywhere has those damn flat glass things, but no one sells colored glass marbles. Thank you for any help you may offer.

I have used alcohol inks to colour glass, but usually the BACK of it. The side with the actual ink does not look very smooth. Or as nice a colour. It IS permanent once it is on. Even on your hands. I suggest you wear playtex gloves during this operation.
How many marbles do you need to colour? Is it possible to mix each colour with Glossy Accents before coating the marbles? That mixture has a nice shiny surface.
Good luck

Well, they are dyed now. I just have them on some tinfoil resting. I just dyed a big bag I got at Joanns. They are for school. I want the kids to use them on the light table, that is why I needed them to be clear. Some feel kind of sticky, how long should they take to dry, do you think?
I wonder if I used glossy accents, wouldn’t they stick together?

That rough sticky look is the way they dry sometimes. I think they are dry. Just not smooth.
If you use glossy accents you can dry them separated by a little space apart on wax paper.

I am rotating colors drying in a very holey colander to help all the side get dry. Perfectly round things are difficult to control, they won’t stay put.
