This is my shawl, sorry for the slightly blurry picture. I used some yarn from a local store that was very thick and soft called Sumptuous luxury yarn. It worked up really quickly (yay) and feels really warm. Crikey that pictures huge!!

This sweater was love at first sight for me Have you seen this pattern from PurlBee? It's the same idea, but clearly more of a warm-weather alternative: Cap Sleeve Lattice Top

This is the same shawl I made in variegated yarn last year, it's lighter so I wear it as a triangle scarf.

Lainey - the scarf came out great, looks very warm rebelyelle - I love that sweater ! On the topic of blocking : If you knit/crochet, do you block all of your projects? I am still relatively new to crochet, so I have only had to block one blanket that was comprised of 10 squares, so I am not that familiar with blocking. I am currently working on a granny stripe blanket, but it will be too big to block, I think. Should I still try to block it? I might have to tack it to the carpet and wet spray it that way since my blocking pad isn't big enough.

Did you use the L-sized hook like the directions call for? I would like to make a couple for myself. I was thinking black/grey variegated, navy blue, and maybe a camel.

I don't knit or crochet so I would have to con someone into doing it for me. LOL This is what I have been working on this weekend...I am making some cards. The card isn't done yet, I have adhered the handwork (?) to the paper yet so this is just kind of laying on paper to give someone an idea of what it will look like when it is finished. It looks wrinkly. LOL

I made a couple of cards, too. Here's a sample. My dog likes to send cards as much as I do I also completed a couple of washcloths. Two of these, coupled with some nice handmade soap, will be my Christmas gift for my colleagues.

I used three 100g balls with a 4mm hook, it was quite a fine yarn so I started with a much longer chain than the pattern states and just went from there. It took me an age to finish!

DaisyDoodles Heather, I have never really had to block anything crocheted...it seems to stay pretty flat, even when it is something to wear. Knitting always seems to need blocking, though...which is probably why I don't knit lol. That and the fact that I knit sooooo slowly that it makes me want to stick the needles in my eye

The felt card is so bright and fun. This is such a fun and inspiring thread.

I love having this thread! My oldest DD requested a red and white afghan to use when she decorates for Christmas (candy cane colors), and I have 5 strips done using the old Annie's attic mile a minute strip technique...anyone else remember those? Although now I have found a pattern that has round motifs that look like peppermint candies, so I have a feeling the mile a minute will become mine because she will want the peppermint swirl This is the peppermint swirl afghan: I also have a friend that is downsizing to a townhouse, so I am going to transfer a photo of her current house onto linen, and using my silk embroidery ribbons to embroider her garden. Hopefully that will be done in time to be her Christmas present (fingers crossed!) I love that pattern. Can you tell me where I might find it?

This my current project the Death Star. A bit of shaping, sew on the piece for the laser and do line details and I will be done.
