What do you guys think about setting up something for those peas going through cancer treatment to get a stuffed pea plush so they can feel the pea love during such a difficult time. Not sure how this could be facilitated but I certainly would contribute to it. I would totally spearhead this if I were Stateside but the shipping to and from here is ridiculous. What do you think? Just throwing this out there.

I would help too! Maybe there is a Pea or several who could knit them or sew them? Is that the type of pea you are looking for?

You all are so sweet! I do carry you all in my heart with me. And, I would gladly make space in my chemo bag for a plush pea. I will gladly contribute for mine and at least one other. Just let me know who to PayPal or Zella.

Honestly I feel it kind of would go the way birthdays go at my place of work. One or two people do all the work, and the rest never instigate or participate $$$, but fully expect their birthdays to be acknowledged. And inevitably somebody gets forgotten.
And the peas would have to give their address. And maybe they don't want to. We may be a community, but most of us are still private people that don't freely give out our information.

Definitely get where you are coming from. I think it has worked well in the past when others have dealt with difficulties, they have reached out and expressed welcome from peas wanting to do something. I think we could do this in the same way. If someone wishes to keep it private, they just let us know they don’t want to participate. We definitely want to respect privacy. This project will need a point person to keep the peas and then dispatch them to the Pea in need. Any volunteers? I will be Stateside in a few weeks and I will order a batch of peas and send them to the “keeper”.

I don't think this is anything like office birthdays. I doubt the people who choose to participate will do so with any expectation other than doing a kindness for a pea in need. Do you really think there will be a bunch of seriously ill Peas who get bent out of shape when, for lack of a better phrase, it's their turn for help? Participation on any level is voluntary, so let those people worry about the workload and their privacy. It's clear you're not interested, though I'm still not sure why you felt the need to dump on someone's kind idea.

I think this is a very sweet idea. My administrators from work gave me a purple monogrammed lap blanket when I was diagnosed last year and it goes with me to chemo every week.
I will gladly contribute, but would not expect one for myself. You guys have done so much for me with my box of LOs.

I think its a lovely idea although I am in the UK and certainly wouldn't expect you all to send me something here, it would cost a fortune. I've had cards from some of the UK peas and it's been really touching, because apparently my friends in real life are a bit rubbish at things like that.

Sorry, no negativity intended, I got confused when OP started her post with WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK... ETA: And my point was not that people would get bent out of shape, it was more like in the beginning everyone thinks it is a great idea, and and then some do not follow through.

Amazon has a variety of plush pea pods on their site. Some with free shipping. If someone with Prime wanted to do the ordering another Pea could PayPal or Venmo funds to that Pea and the order could be sent to the recipient if an address was given. Just a thought. I’m sure there are hurdles to jump I haven’t thought of with this idea.

It is ok to take in everyone’s opinion. People can join in or not, and that is ok.
Let’s focus on making this happen for those that do want to get this going. Is there a pea that is willing to keep track of those peas going through chemo? Also keep a spreadsheet of those of us who want to contribute? Perhaps together we can come up with ideas on how to facilitate this into fruition.
I am open to ideas. Like I said, I will be happy to order a bunch while I am Stateside and ship them to a guardian pea.

I'd be willing to order them and then keep track of donations if they come in. I have a paypal account, already. I'm on 2 peas and Amazon daily, so I could keep ordering more, if the need arises. (Although I pray there won't be a need). I would have a few questions, but they could easily be answered if I am chosen to keep track.
