You can buy all sorts of different storage cases and things, Artbin do 12x12 size that are really sturdy and have a handle for carrying. The easiest way if you're just starting out is to use a pizza box probably. In the UK that is the main way shops post 12x12 papers so you end up with a stash of those but they're not that sturdy or easy to carry. I don't know what country you are in but do a search for 12x12 storage case or something like that and you should get options.

12 x 12 ArtBins, usually, but sometimes I use the plastic envelopes Michaels sells. The envelopes fit upright in my cropping bag, without damaging the paper.
What I use depends on how much paper and cardstock I need.
