Here is a funny Brussels Sprouts story.
When ds was about 8 or 9 we were cruising along the central coast of California north of Monterey. There are several farm stands thru that area and we stopped at one. First thing my little eye spied was huge glorious stalks of Brussels Sprouts. I grabbed two. We continued looking around a picked up a couple of other things. At checkout, ds is still whingeing about the two big stalks of Brussels Sprouts and how he doesn't like them. Then, out of the blue, he turns to the young women at the register and says, "Seriously, why do my parents think plant testicles are okay to eat." OMG, the clerk, dh and I laughed so hard the three of were crying. People came over to see what could possibly be that funny.
To this day we have no idea why he called them that, but I can guarantee you that is all they are called in this house. I bet that clerk calls them that too.
Giggle snort plant testicles.

Thanks everyone. I only have frozen right now but will check the store today. Fresh are a whole different flavor and texture experience than the frozen ones.

Fresh, roasted, salt and pepper, olive oil, maybe a little garlic powder. Brussels sprouts are my favorite thing in the world. Be sure to roast them until they are a little bit charred.
They need to be slightly charred, so sautéed is definitely okay, but not steamed, etc.

Just know scientists actually discovered there's a gene that allows some people to taste one of the components of brussel sprouts as bitter. If your normally non-picky husband really didn't like them, I imagine he has the gene. Make sure you're incorporating something to offset the bitterness - the balsamic glaze a previous poster mentioned is sweet, some people actually add a little brown sugar to the saute pan. They don't taste bitter to anyone in our family, so we go with simple roasting.

Store didn't have any so it'll have to be frozen. I'll try that balsamic glaze and roast them in the air fryer.

I have one of my favs in the oven right now.
2 sweet potatoes cut into 1/4" cubes 1 lb. BS cut in half or quartered Toss with fresh minced garlic (I often just use granulated garlic) 1 tsp. cumin, salt & pepper to taste, and 1/3 cup olive oil. Roast at 400 for 40ish mins (I like them a little charred when the loose leaves are crispy)

We're eating late tonight but I snuck one to try. You know, it's not half bad. I think the sauce really makes it. I put a little too much olive oil on them, so next time i would probably just toss them in it in a bowl or bag, and then transfer. The sauce made about twice what I need so next time I'll do half the sauce recipe. But it's pretty good for something I was sure would be so gross.

Hmm.. everyone ate them, liked them okay (not their favorite but no complaints) and agreed that we should keep them in the rotation. Maybe my family isn't as picky as I thought. lol
