We have a prince /80s party on sat night.
Any ideas for a do it yourself at home 80s costume.
Thx,
Paige.

Leggings, combat boots big hair, bright makeup with blue mascara. Buy an over-sized T-shirt and cut the neck out big where it can hang off one shoulder, cut big slits across front and back and stretch to create openings. Wear it over a tank top.

Drag out your old Swatch watch and any jelly bracelets you have. Do you have a super-old, huge brick of a cell phone you can carry? Acid washed jeans? High top sneakers with colored socks bunched up around the top?

I swear to god you just asked this? or asked before? Maybe it was someone else? and maybe I'm losing it. haha. Honestly, there was another thread, and they had lots of suggestions. But who knows if you can find it again with our great search. Ya sure you didn't ask this before? ha

I don't know if you can find it with the search function all jacked up right now but it had lots of great suggestions.

Use Hair Mousse to make your hair big If you have an old sweatshirt you don't mind cutting up - cut the neck to make it bigger so it slants down on one shoulder Heavy makeup - blue eyeshadow Lots of bracelets A headband made out of a bandana One stud earring in one ear and a long dangling earring in the other ear Bright neon colors Bright neon sunglasses Fingerless gloves (if you have any) - leather is best

My go to costume for an 80's party is black leggings with my hot pink leg warmers, an old pair of white reboks, a hot pink off the shoulder longish sweatshirt with a black tank underneath, stacked bracelets, a hot pink beaded necklace, and my hair curled and put up in a banana clip.
If that option is too hot, you could go with either, jeans with pegged legs, a thin colored leather belt, two different colored izod shirts with the collars popped, some Sperry top siders or penny loafers, beads and a swatch watch or you could go the Madonna look with a black pants, black lacey top with a black short blazer, wide black belt, and black scarf for your Big hair. Lots of gold bangle bracelets, big gold dangle earrings and necklaces, and white lace gloves.
There are really a million avenues you can take. Hope you have a great time!

My oldest just won an 80s costume party contest, but his go to 80s look is Marty Mcfly, which probably doesn’t work in this case. Popped collar plaid shirt, jean jacket, orange vest, watch, sunglasses, jeans, Nike’s, skateboard etc.
Another option is layering a couple of polo shirts with popped collars, sunglasses on the head, pegged pants, and a preppy sweater draped over the shoulders. StephDRebel love the Goonies shirt!!

Definitely twister beads! I just learned from another post that these were in in the 1980s.

Don't you have another thread asking about what to wear to a prince party?

Don't you have another thread asking about what to wear to a prince party? Yes! That was too hard for me. These 80s ideas are way easier. I couldn’t find anything purple rain-ish.
