I have never brought a blanket with me but I like to bring my biggest scarf to get wrapped in.

That would be a surefire way for me to miss even more of the movie. I am well known for falling asleep in both cinemas and theatres. I slept through the stampede in The Wild Thornberrys Movie, and I remember vividly waking up during Mission Impossible and wondering how on earth Tom Cruise came to be dangling horizontally over some precious object (computer?) with that single bead of sweat running down his face. Nah, think I’ll stay home and sleep instead!

Great way to bring things home with you. Besides filth the blanket gives you extra fabric to collect any hitchhikers that might have made it to the theater. Fleas, ticks, Lice or bedbugs. What kind of theaters are you going to?

I have never seen or heard of this before and would probably do a double take if I saw with a blanket. Yeah me too. I wonder if it’s a regional thing. What’s next? Slippers and a pillow?

Yes! I freeze In theatres and when it is that cold my body hurts. I only take a blanket when I go to the theatre with reclining seats. The blanket goes straight to the washer when I get home.

Not a blanket, but I often take a very large fleecy scarf to one particular cinema that has freezing cold air con. Ironically the other cinema locally ( we only have 2) is boiling hot - id rather go to the cold one and snuggle under something 😊

I’m another one who would be out like a light if I had a cozy blanket to wrap up in. When my kids were little and I’d take them to a movie I’d always say “mom’s getting an expensive nap”. I tend to be cold in the theater and always bring a hoodie if I’m not wearing a jacket.

If I had a blanket, and was reclining in those super comfy seats, I’d be out like a light. Yeah, that!!!!

I never even thought of it but I hate going to the movies in summer because it’s so cold in the theater. I don’t think I would want to take one though.

What kind of theaters are you going to? well, the lice thing happened at movie night at school, my kids were sick so we didn’t get them. The fleas & bed bugs thing I know about from work. It happened a few times in NYC and in NJ. And it’s not a measure of the theaters cleanliness but if people who were there before you had the bugs with them. I went to the theater a month ago for the first time in years it was an AMC theater to see Deadpool and the floor was a sticky mess. It was gross. No bugs thankfully. But it still bothered me. I guess it’s a work related hazard, once you see it you can’t un see it

I’ve only brought a blanket once due to the theaters here being really cold. Usually, I just wear a jacket, or sweater. I hate being uncomfortable during a 2 hr movie.
I think the theaters are just trying to make you feel more at home.

I definitely always bring a coat because the movies are so cold. One of our “luxury” theaters has started offering blankets (washed and wrapped) and another theater has heated seats.
I’m unsure why theaters and airplanes have to maintain the coldest temperatures possible.

I've never thought to bring a blanket, but I do always remember to bring a sweatshirt/jacket and wear tennis shoes vs. sandals. I nearly froze to death the entire movie the last time I chose to wear sandals and no jacket....made a note to self to never do that again.

I saw this for the first time last weekend. A whole family had big blankets when they came out of the theater. I thought it was kind of strange but I guess it is a thing now since others are seeing it.

Anything that is going to infest your blanket in a theater is also going to crawl on you and your clothes (and in your purse) blanket or no.

I haven’t done it but have recently considered it when I go to a particular movie theater. It is so freaking cold in there that I’m shivering. I like to be cold but this is too much.
One time we went to this theater in the winter and it was so cold inside that we had to keep our jackets on, completely zippered, hood over head and gloves on. We mentioned something to management several times but they didn’t change it.

It would be pretty easy to bring home a hitchhiker under those circumstances, why make it any easier?

Anything that is going to infest your blanket in a theater is also going to crawl on you and your clothes (and in your purse) blanket or no. Not necessarily. A blanket can slip down between the cracks in the seats or drape down to the floor in a way that my clothes would never do. And I don’t ever put my purse on the floor, I always keep it up in my lap.

We started to because it gets so flipping cold and with the new recliners makes it nice and cozy.... then the blanket goes straight into the washer!

Never have, never will. It's a two hour movie for god's sake , not a camping trip. LOL. I would never bring a blanket.
I always bring a light sweater or hoodie. However, I think a lot of people must have complained about how freaking cold it was with the A/C in the summer. I've noticed it has been a little warmer the past couple of times.
