I'm rearranging my room and was moving my scrapbooks so while I had them out, I started looking through them. While I am pretty good (or THOUGHT I was pretty good) in getting all my pages in order (either later by taking my pages apart and getting them in order or inserting), I noticed a little trend. Missing dates, ages, names, maybe a embellishment or journal that I was going to do later, missing pages).. I am like WHAT??? Why am I missing a WHOLE page right here? (I probably took it out for some reason and forgot to put it back in?)... I think my next project is going to take each book and go page by page and fill in missing items. I had two books that I made YEARS ago for my mom and MIL. They were little 8 1/2 X 11 and I was using a bunch of duplicate pictures I had laying around. So each page was the alphabet.. A is for 'apple of my eye' B is for 'boys' (and so forth).. apparently I never gave them the books and apparently in BOTH books I missed the letter 'H' and made two "F" pages... WHAT the hell? OYE what the heck am I doing? ?

It sounds like something I’d do after a class. They were set up so you’d make the layout or mini album and add the pictures and journaling later. I’ve found a few of those lying around before so I feel your pain.

I got into the habit of writing below photos in small handwriting the who, what, where, and when. Like when you see a photo in the newspaper with the caption below. It may not look pretty, but I have many pages I still need to fix because I realized how I left many things out.

It may not look pretty, but I have many pages I still need to fix because I realized how I left many things out. ^^ this is pretty much how I journal... I never knew what to write on my pages (back when everyone was trying to write 'heartfelt, emotional' journaling), but I'm great at telling people 'stories' about where we went, what we were doing, etc. when they're looking AT the pages. Someone I was talking to at a crop said, 'why don't you just write those stories into your journaling?' and I was like, DUH!! So my journaling is pretty much like a newspaper story-- who, where, what, when, and a bit of the why. As for the OP, my albums are all full of holes like that, too... I have a couple stacks of 'mostly finished' pages that just need journaling or final embellishments, then they need to go into their respective albums. It's going to be a big project, for sure- thank goodness for the electronic photos on my computer, so I can figure out when we did things, lol!!

Check out some of Missy Whiddens video on you tube She does a little journalling on each page and a date but it’s very simple and subtle

Pages I have just created pile up on a table in the living room. Sometimes a page is missing a photo b/c I don't have the right size printed. If I start a LO or two or three at a crop or someone's place and don't finish for some reason (want to add wet media or some special touches at home) they go on the pile as well. I try to get these into an album fairly regularly, and when it is album time, I check to make sure each page is complete. I read all the journaling at that time, and sometimes end up proofing spelling or adding details at that time as well.
But while the albums are chronological, I don't always go from A to Z with my scrapping, so I leave spaces in the album for pages I hope to create in the future. Sometimes I put paper and embellies into the page protector in anticipation of future creating.
I don't always get back to those pages. Last year I found a pumpkin die and embossing folder in a page protector in an album that had been on my shelf for a few years. I had looked for that stuff subsequent autumns, but never thought to check my album!

I always date pics of my niece that I scrap and I do have an idea about month/year of other photos (mostly I'm working on older travel photos from the 90s) but there are a lot of things that aren't that well documented in my albums either. I figure as long as I'm getting pages in the album that's the main thing!

I always wonder if I'm not journaling the whos, what, where and when's enough. I feel like I'm being redundant putting the names of everyone in the picture all the time, so I stopped kinda doing it.... and now I'm in the same boat you are!! I need to sit down and go over things and see what needs to be added. But damn, that's gonna be a lot of work!!😔

one thing i'm good at is putting on dates. my journaling tends to be the 5 W's and i'm ok with that. hope it doesn't take you too long to get through the pile!

I know.. in 25 years when they are looking at the pages (at least I hope someone is) and there is nothing.. they will say 'yep that is our mom, she starts out good, but yeah by the end these pictures might be someone else's kid!)... lol My mom is the same way... my baby book... well the first 5 pages are awesome... apparently she didn't care about me after six months old... the rest of the book is blank.

I have noticed missing dates, etc. in some of my layouts. I do try to go back and add them.
I "may" have found a photo adhered upside down, too...

My son's name is Zack, our neighbor's kid is named Kevin... there is a picture of them together and this is what I labeled it: Zevin... yep... it was in my book for years before I noticed.

That's pretty funny! I find that my earlier pages are lacking details like that also. I am better about it now but I still need some work in this department.
