In the past month I’ve had two separate We R Memory Keepers products purchased not work (Typewriter and new punch anywhere square punch). I’m returning the punch to J’s today and the WRMK customer service had me mail back the Typewriter for repair. While I appreciate customer service helping, has anyone else had an issue with their products lately? Or did I just hit a string of bad consecutive products?

I've always had excellent luck with their stuff, but from what I have read, it's exactly that: luck!
There have been quality issues with their stuff since American Crafts bought the brand. As soon as I get one of their products home, I try it out immediately to make sure it works.

I've also had great luck with their products and i have a lot of them, including the typewriter & sewing machine.
I recently had a blade problem on a new punch board but their customer service was excellent!

As soon as I get one of their products home, I try it out immediately to make sure it works. This makes sense-I also think it’s when AC bought WRMK. I just get so excited to use a new product, only to get it home and not work/be disappointed.

They are no longer about quality...it's about how quickly they can make something, put it on the market and cash in on it. That's why most of their tools show up for super cheap less than a year after release at places like Tuesday Morning.
They are no longer the company they were before the American Crafts acquisition...as with everything AC takes over, quality of product goes out the window in favor of the cheapest manufacturing possible to maintain as high of a profit margin as possible. I only trust tools from them that I know can't be screwed up OR have had several generations to improve upon the problems. Remember when the first envelope board came out and it needed new stickers because their measurement guide was wrong? Since many generations have come since then, if there is a board I think will be useful for me, I'll buy it now (but almost exclusively at Tuesday Morning) because they've had a few years to work through the kinks. Instead of having adequate R&D, they make the customers pay for subpar product and make minor improvements in future generation releases IF they don't just move on altogether.
I trust their punches for the most part because the Crop-A-Dile was a pre-AC tool. Not much R&D needed to change the size of a hole in a punch when they've already got the rest of the mechanics worked out from when the company was reputable.
It honestly shocks me that people are willing to spend money on the typewriter and sewing machine from them knowing these things. The only things I really like about these types of releases are the accessories because I can use them in machines that I know are going to work the way they are supposed to. I'm hoping TM clearances out the typewriter ribbon ($4.99 still seems high for how short the ribbon is) soon so I can buy some more stash for my old school machine.

American Crafts strikes again. I remember when WRMK sold to them and there was a thread where we discussed the possibility of a decline in quality. No great surprise that the prediction came true. So sad, especially when it’s a company that was known for its great products.

I have their Clear Cut Square Punch, and I hate it! It is so hard to use and never makes a clean cut!

I have cracks in my Precision Press Advanced that I've used only twice. Both replacement lids have cracks. Other Peas are having the same problems. I've emailed WRMK about it, and I'm awaiting their response. Not good. Their products are slipping, and I'm not going to buy anything else they release until they get their act together.

Yes, product quality has gone very downhill on WRMK products. They were like Tonic and Making Memories to me at one time for high quality products. I still have beautiful WRMK older items that are made nice and durable. My friend's Crop-A-Dile broke in her hand. Another friend had to return the envelope board a couple of months ago because it was so bad. She was in tears. She looked so forward to buying it. I bought the stapler at Hobby Lobby when they had that big clearance. That thing is the worst. I only spent $2.00 on it, thank gosh. You know I was looking forward to playing with it only to have headaches. That is my worst pet peeve in this industry is products that are broken and marketed to us like we are idiots and will gobble it up. I am not singling out WRMK on this. I bet we all could start a thread from every company in the industry that has done this to us and name all the products. I am really disappointed how American Crafts has chosen to run this company since the buy out. I loved WRMK. Their products are just fun and some become lovely classics. Hopefully, AC will see this as a problem and start fixing things. As of right now it is definitely buyer beware when it comes to quality.

That is really disappointing to hear. They used to be a really good company.
I have one of the original envelope makers, and it is really good. I have a few of their other tools, too, from awhile back, all good.
Recently I bought a couple of their tools at Tuesday Morning. I have not yet tried them, but I am now wondering if they will hold up for long, since they are more recent purchases.
