I can’t believe Nashville has come to an end. It hasn’t been the same since it moved to CMT but I am still going to miss it.
Overall, I thought the finale was good. Who watched? What did you think?

We can’t bring ourselves to watch the last 3 episodes. We were late to the party and binged it last winter/spring. When Rayna died it was pretty much over for us. Maybe this weekend we can get through it.

I stopped watching when it moved to CMT (I don't get that channel) but would love to know how they wrapped it up.

Oh my goodness. After last week’s episode, I couldn’t see how everything could possibly be wrapped up for an ending, but I really liked it. Dang it, Nashville! So many tears!

I wanted Scarlett and Gunnar to end up together, otherwise I liked the ending.
I called the Rayna appearance before it happened.
I really enjoyed the show. Sorry to see it go.

Who was it that Scarlette was with? I couldn’t tell! Some stranger we didn't know. Obviously a singer (or maybe a guitarist) of some kind. (played by Clare Bowen's real life husband)

We don't have cable so I had not caught up until we got Hulu earlier this year. It was a bit of a slog to get through after the show moved to CMT. Obviously they did not have the budget that ABC had. The biggest thing that was missing for me were the big star moments where Juliette or someone like Rayna would perform on a stage with a full backup before a large audience. It seemed all that was gone replaced by slow ballads in coffee house crowds. The songs were good but not something I cared to listen to more than once.
I thought CMT handled Rayna's exit really well with the drama that led up to her death but then she actually died from injuries in an accident. I never cared for her character that much but still found watching the mourning episodes difficult though necessary.
What I didn't like about CMT's version was what they did to Juliette. I hated the entire cult thing. She never interacted with anyone but poor Avery. The ending with them was pretty good but I'd have much rather had Juliette back on stage for more of the last couple of seasons.
One thing I had hoped for with Rayna's death was that I would never have to hear the term "Highway 65" ever again. Rayna was an absolutely terrible businesswoman. Finally in the last season someone put Deacon out of his misery and put the business in the background. The guy who ran Shiny New Records was a good villian but that all wrapped up a little too easily.
I was surprised they didn't put Deacon and Jesse together but now I'm happy they didn't. I like to think that he started seeing Ilse who I loved.
One thing that never worked for me on this show was how Maddie was supposed to be this great talent. Daphne has the far better voice. Everything they had Maddie sing just sounded like a teenager trying to sing rather than someone who was supposed to be so super talented.
The only real disappointment I have is that Will's story seemed to fizzle. I thought he had the most interesting story of all. As far as I know country music is the only genre without an openly gay singer. ABC did a good job with Will's character but CMT did not seem to know what to do with him.
I'm glad I stuck with the show. It was a unique pitch set in Nashville versus Hollywood, had many interesting characters and really took us through an alcoholic's road to recovery and what it cost him. The music was usually great. I hope we hear these actor/singers perform more in the future.

I hope we hear these actor/singers perform more in the future. Charles Esten (Deacon) and fellow Nashville stars have been touring for a while. The actors who played Will, Scarlett, Avery, and Gunnar have had many concerts all over the world. If you follow him on Instagram, you can see lots of concert photos and hear his songs. For several months, he posted a new song every Friday. He’s very talented!

I recently watched an old episode of that and mentioned to my dd that Chip reminded me of Deacon on Nashville. So I looked it up when I realized Chip is a nickname for Charles and low and behold, same guy! And as a fun fact, we recently found out he went to college with my dd’s aunt (in-law, lol Dd married her nephew). We only found out because they took a picture together and posted it online. Oh how I wish she’d known we’re fans of his. He was in town for something related to the college, I think (William & Mary in Virginia).

There was a lot I really liked about the last few seasons. I was not so much a fan of the PTSD guy and Juliette’s storylines got a little crazy, both with the church stuff and the cult, but other than that I enjoyed it.
I was kind of glad to see Deacon have some flirtation with someone other than Jessie. She was his first romance since Rayna. He needed to test the waters more. I like Ilse better for him.
I still remember that very first season when he loved her so much and Avery was so awful to her.
Everyone coming on the stage for that final song and then talking to the audience—so moving. I’m really going to miss this show. With all the crap that’s out there, I’ll never understand why this show struggled.

I wanted Scarlett and Gunnar to end up together, otherwise I liked the ending. Me too! I kind of wish they had ended the series in the episode Scarlett told Gunnar she was pregnant. Just before that, when they were all walking out of the studio would have been a perfect ending. I almost didn't watch the last episode because I didn't want it to end. It has been one of my favorite shows for the last 6 years.

I didn't love the final episode .. it just seemed predicatable to me. But I did LOVE the last 5 minutes. I did get teary. Especially listening to Callie Khouri. Who has a special place in my heart because of her extreme kindness to one of my dearest friends as she went through one of the most difficult years anyone could have. I watched Nashville because of her and others on the show, and I am glad I did because it was a great show.

Not especially Nashville related but just read that Chris Carmack (Will) is going to be the new ortho surgeon on Grey’s Anatomy next season. I am SO happy to hear this!

Because I was out of town I only just now caught up on the last 2 epidsodes on HULU. Oh man the tears with the last 5 minutes. That's how you end a series. I loved the showing of the support staff, the crew etc.
While a somewhat predictable wrap up I was expecting something a lot more darker with the Twig. I really felt it was becoming a "13 reasons why" story line in their treatment of him so I was surprised he didn't take his life.

I am glad they didn't do that with Twig - I am sure they wanted to end the story on a positive note for all characters

Sooooooo, I'm SUPER LATE to the party. After I knew they were cancelling the show, I found it very hard to watch the last half of season 6 knowing it was all going to end.
I'm a classic rock girl, but I sure loved me some Nashville! Over the last couple of weeks, I've fit in time to watch the last half of the season... I sure wish it was still going! I'm really gonna miss those characters!
Thought the ending wrapped up the best way possible. Wish they could have explained Scarlett's new love a little more that just a kiss and wedding plans. LOL
Really liked seeing will back with "what's his name" walking hand-in-hand.
Thought it was cool that Daphne didn't win the contest. It almost seemed like maybe Ilse set that up as a favor to Deacon to get Daphne away from the Shiny New guy. He was a GREAT bad guy by the way!
Glad Avery and Juliette worked everything out. The little girl that played Cadence was adorable!
I cried an UGLY cry at the end with everyone together. I will miss this show. <3
