****SPOILER ALERT***** ****SPOILER ALERT*****
If you read this book, what did you think??? There were a few twists I was totally surprised by! There is a review on Goodreads that puts to words what I am thinking, and I want to see what you think!
Here is the review: " I believe that the diary entries actually belonged to Amber(Taylor). I believe that she wrote the entires in the perspective of who she wanted to be and what she wished her life could be, what i mean by this is. Amber/Taylor is actually the girl who has the abusive parents and Claire is the one with the loving parents. But when she writes in her diary she imagines herself in Claire’s shoes and Claire in hers. She mentally switch roles. So when the diary is read it’s as if it was “written” by Claire. Because she so badly wanted the life she lived, she imagined herself “Taylor” as the fortunate one and “Claire” as the unfortunate. Taylor mentioned when their parents passed they didn’t save much of anything from her childhood, but they saved a ton for Claire. Again, i believe that’s because Claire was their biological child and Taylor was the adopted child who burnt down her parents house. The entry she tore out the book that said “Taylor told me to” was actually her literally telling herself to do it. And again in her diary she’s not who she portrays her self to be. There’s so many subtle details that leads me to believe that this is the case, The parents leaving Claire the childhood home, the envy Taylor had for Claire all her life, that’s why she killed her and took her kids. Also, there was a few times that it was said for Taylor to stop lying. This woman believed in her lie for so long that it became her reality."
I also think that Clair wasn't actually in the car, that Amber was the one driving and she caused the accident, or she had a small mental breakdown and it was an accident. I think Clair was innocent in it, and Amber was the one behind it.
What did you think? If you think I am totally wrong and off base, I will not be offended at all!! I also read on Goodreads that there is talk of a sequel, I wonder which direction it would take.
What did you think of this book?

I was very frustrated with this book. It shouldn’t have to be so complicated to make it a *hip* book. I took it at face value that it was like Amber said and didn’t spend much more time thinking about it because it annoyed me. I also didn’t like the ending with the bracelet. Stacy

Stacy I agree about the bracelet.

I also read on Goodreads that there is talk of a sequel, I wonder which direction it would take. What did you think of this book? I finally read this book whilst sitting on my great new couch. I loved it!!! It kept me enthralled from beginning to end and the first pages made me sick to my stomach. It was so so frightening. I first thought that there wasn't even a Claire. Remember the diaries talked about the goldfish? I think Amber killed the goldfish. I also think she killed the bird who hit the window. If Claire had really written the diaries, then it would have been Claire who had killed the goldfish. Remember, also, that Amber said that neither she nor Claire had an alibi for Edward's "disappearance." Still, here is what I was troubled with: Why would Claire let Amber take care of her children overnight? That doesn't seem likely to me. One or both of them had to know about Edward and they both knew about all the other stuff - killing Amber's parents, for example. I was very frustrated with this book. It shouldn’t have to be so complicated to make it a *hip* book. I took it at face value that it was like Amber said and didn’t spend much more time thinking about it because it annoyed me. I also didn’t like the ending with the bracelet. Stacy I didn't mind the complications. We're messed up in the mind because Amber is as well. I liked the bracelet ending. I mean WTH? Is Claire still alive? Did Amber send it to herself? Is David aware of all of this because he read the books (this is what I think)? I loved the book!

It's been a few months since I read it, but I was going back and forth on Amber sending it to herself, or the guy having read the journals and sending it. I was hoping the author would write a sequel!

By time I got to the end, I no longer cared about any of them. It was just too much work to decipher who did what. I love physiological thrillers, but for me this tried too hard to get a “I never saw it coming ending”.
