My son is working at a national historic site this summer. They hired someone specifically to give French tours and then found out the person they hired couldn't actually speak French. I don't know why they didn't do a language check before hand, but wondered how the kid thought they were going to fudge that one all summer long!!

The on that made me shake my head was the young man who listed “ can read a tape measure “ as a special skill. He was applying for a construction crew. Welp, lots of people can't!

One of my company's recruiters said he'd recently gotten a cover letter that said "Resumes are so (I don't remember the exact year) - see my LinkedIn profile." Needless to say this person didn't get an interview. ROFL!!!! I can just imagine someone who THINKS they're clever / funny saying "the early 2000's called, and they want their PAPER resume back"

Ed I was reviewing resumes for a clerical assistant position. In the ‘goal’ section one man had put “To make a lot of money “. Not only had he picked the wrong job, he’d pretty much picked the wrong company. At least he got right to the point.

Probably the really interesting ones that I saw in a resume was the person’s email account was LoveMyNotPopCoke@whatever.com and in another resume it was HardAndNasty@whatever.com.
For a children services job...as a caseworker.
Actually the first email somehow got past HR. I noticed it right before the interview. During the interview, the others asked questions. About 10 minutes in , I said “Sooooo about your email address ...,,,” I just trailed off. The person sat there with a blank stare and she clearly didn’t get why I mentioned it or why it might be a CLUE.
I said “This is a job with children services...as a caseworker...(blank stare) where we might have to remove children...(blank stare)...because the parent abuses drugs. ..like cocaine“
Ooooooooo, I get it now

Working at a strip club does not make you attractive to mainstream employers. Right or wrong, it is true.
