APPROPRIATE in the school drop off line in the morning!!!& [HASH]%#%^@!!
1. Pull up! ALL THE WAY UP! Your precious little can walk a few extra feet to their destination by Jr High for Pete's sake!
2. Eject child from vehicle.
3. Drive away.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Need to have a pow-wow with your kid? Park the damn car in a parking spot and chatter away to your heart's content.

Life becomes so much easier when the little precious drives themselves. Best part is no more car line. Car line is an invention of the devil.

The drop-off in the morning is the low point of my day. I feel like only about 15% of parents are like me - able and willing to follow the directions so they don't muck it up for everybody. Right now the weather is fine and my son is riding his bike, but that will change soon enough.

I drive by both of my kids' schools on my way to work and i put them both on the bus so that i don't have to deal with parent drop off lines!

Oh yeah! I get you might want to watch them walk fifteen feet to the middle school front door ONCE during first week. Drink in your little wonder, he is now sooo big!
But it's week four, lady, even I have his adorable curly head memorized. MOVE ON! The sixty cars behind you appreciate it.

I just love it when I have to stop for the school bus and you are kissing and hugging each of your special snowflakes as they get on the bus and then you shoot the shit for a couple more minutes with the bus driver. No, really I have nothing better to do.

2. Eject child from vehicle
Yes! Yes! Yes! And under no circumstances should the driver exit the vehicle. If your vehicle is too big for your child to exit on their own, park and get them out, don't get in the drop-off lane.
It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut at our orientation, small Christian school, when the pastor was talking about the rules for picking up and mentioned nothing about dropping off.

And if you need to park, please don't park in my teacher's spot and swear at me when I point out where parents can park. Thanks.

I feel your pain. Screaming "cut the cord!" helps a little. High school is much easier. They either drive themselves or the parents barely slow down to kick them out.

Due to all kinds of reasons, I actually had to drive my 11th grader to school. The parking lot/drop off area was a free for all...and stopping appeared to be optional for the kids getting out the cars.

This thread makes me laugh and appreciate that 2 of my 3 girls have graduated high school while at the same I am getting a little misty-eyed and nostalgic about the passage of time. Still laughing about ejecting child and "cut the cord!" God help me but I am the parent that would have done and said both

Drop not a problem at my daughters school it moves fast. PICK up.. was so painful that they now make all the parents park and the kids are on the lawn and the parent walk up and get them.

It is so much better than elementary and middle school!

God bless it, this is one of my BIGGEST GRIPES about my kid's school. It's a small school (less than 400 kids, K-5), and there's ONE way in and ONE way out. People are just all over the place, no sense of order. For the life of me, I DO NOT understand why it's so difficult!
And for the love of all that is pure and good on this earth, IF YOU ARE IN THE PICK-UP OR DROP-OFF LINE, DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR FREAKING CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Omg, driving my 11th grader to school is the bane of my existence. She goes to an out of zone school for just 1 class so no bus...the line is hell. Stupid kids driving badly, stupid parents driving badly, just a huge 30 minute ordeal of stupid every other day (block schedule).
She can't get her license until January, waaaahhhhh!
