I pulled out my OLD stash of Halloween papers and spent a half hour just enjoying looking at each piece, remembering picking them out at the LSS. Oh how cute and unique many of them are. Making Memories Jack o lantern paper with the faces cut out, Little Yellow Bicycle and Basic Grey. Don't forget My Minds Eye with those gorgeous tower racks that each side held a collection complete with embellishments. The KI Memories collection Spooky was so simple but went with everything. Oh the fond memories of my first loves (sigh), why can't they make papers like this anymore? As I returned them back to their holder and placed them back on the shelf I believe I murmured "don't worry dearies your safe for another day"! Nope, I just can't bring myself to use them so I reach for my TM paper haul once again. And that folks is why my stash is so darn large and I still shop for paper.

I love most of my stash and it has been collected over more than 2 decades. But I do use them. I get very excited when I can use paper I have. Oh my goodness, some of them I have been waiting to use for so long and then when I get to I'm so happy.

Working on a layout last night, I was going through stash and scraps as well more thoroughly than normal. I found such old stuff - single sided - cactus pink, old basic grey, A2Z, cherry arte, MM noteworthy, SEI... And more OA than I thought I had, but the original lines I don't see myself using right now - they're kinda dark and dingy. Kinda like the original Simple Stories - I'm keeping it, but it's dingy for current trends!

I think Rusty Pickle had a fantastic line of Halloween paper....if my memory is correct. They did! I bought a Halloween mini kit from them during their going out of business sale. I guess I'm saving that for grandkids 'cuz my kids are too old for Halloween dress up!

They had the paper that had like 9 pumpkin faces on it (one in it's own square).. kinda of a dark orange, black... almost to the point of distressed but definitely not? And they all had different hats on?.. I LOVED LOVED that paper... and made a cute layout with it... but for some reason that one paper sticks with me. Maybe it was the first Halloween paper that wasn't super kiddy looking?

I loved Rusty Pickle. I used to go to their warehouse when I’d go to Provo-CKU. I was in absolute heaven there.

There were so many choices unlike now where so much has either disappeared or been gobbled up by AC. I don’t know about Halloween limes, but I loved Making Memories, 7 Gypsies,,Scenic Route, Autumn Leaves, and Basic Gray. Ah, the good old days.

I didn't care for KI Memories graphic heavy designs but the lines they released that looked handpainted are still my all time favorite lines. I also really liked the fun and whimsy of their Love, Elsie lines. October Afternoon another favorite. I love a lot of the older Thicker alphabets. They had a lot of variety in fonts and colors. Now everything they offer is gold, gold, or gold. Snooze.

I still have paper from companies like KMA, Paper Patch, Daisy D's, All My Memories, O Scrap... bought at local scrapbook stores that have disappeared and online stores like DMarie and GoneScrappin that are gone.
But I have never been about trends, I always use what I love and what matches my pictures. The other day I used some paper from an old ProvoCraft paper pad and it was perfect for my layout.
I don't really regret buying any of it except for some old Creative Memories patterned paper that is just ugly and in a weird size (8x10?) and a Lisa Bearnson kit from QVC back in the David Venable hosting days when she made everything seem like a must have.

Yes, I've been looking through my older collections a lot lately and making a point of using up some of my older paper and embellishments.
I did find a stack of single sided Karen Foster Designs paper (it is so thin, too!) that is sooooo old and outdated! The paper is farm themed and actually has the phrase "milking a cow" printed on it. I've never lived on a farm, near a farm, or milked a cow so I'm not sure what I was thinking when I bought it! Most of that stack of paper is now in the "donate" bin!

I sort of live near the SEI warehouse and they had a store front for a long time. That is most of my stash! THEN they had two warehouse sales close together. Ten sheets for $1.00, embellishments, ink pads,.... I was giddy when I found the really old lines still there! I'm quite certain, they are done selling the scrappy stuff.

Oh, wanted to add there's a everything type of store in my town. I should take some pictures of what they have. I'm positive there's several of the companies mentioned on this thread!

Hoarded it for some special occasion, and now it doesn't quite fit with what I am doing, but I still smile when I see it. Maybe some day... The company I really miss is My Little Yellow Bicycle. I still have a few hoarded pieces, but there is very little left.

I have this piece of paper in my stash that looks like a water color painting of some hills along the ocean. It says PSX Designs and 2004 on the back. I don't know what company that is but I finally have photos to go with it (lighthouse photo I took this summer at the beach). It only took 14 years...

I used up my last sheet of Daisy D's this past week. I loved a lot of their papers. They were so easy to use - they complemented all of my photos.

Each company had its own aesthetic, contributed to variety in the industry, & provided supplies for every style/type of scrapper. I especially miss the creativity, classic patterns, versatile embellishments, & usable color palettes of Chatterbox, KI Memories, & October Afternoon. : :

I miss Basic Grey! Oh! They were my favorite company ever. I have more BG than anyone ever needs but I always keep my eyes out for more. Sometimes I go into my scrapbook room and pull a random paper holder full of BG and just look at the pretty papers. It always makes me happy.
I regret falling in love with October Afternoon too late. I don’t have much from them but I cherish it almost as much as Basic Grey.

Actually, I have been working with some very old Lily Bee lately. I had forgotten what wonderful small and medium patterns they used - great for 2 page layouts.

I recently went through and touched almost all of my paper stash. I am still in love with all of my Doodlebug (some dating back to 2003!), KI Memories and Chatterbox. And, oh do I have the stash of Chatterbox! I'm inspired to start using it all again!
