I agree that it's stupid and annoying when their site shows purchases made with the subscription or credits are free.
However, since I am getting $150 in designs of my choice for $12/month (price is based on automatic renewal, and bought when subscriptions were on sale), I will put up with the stupidity. It's a decent deal for me, especially since the designs are mine to use forever. I am getting designs for literally pennies on the dollar with my Silhouette sub. It may not be free, but sometimes it is pretty close to it. 99 cent designs work out to about 10 cents each for me, or 5 cents each during a half off sale.
Yes, Silhouette subscription credits expire if you have not used them up before you stop subscribing, but they also have other credits you can buy that have no expiration, because they are not tied to a subscription. You still get designs for less than the regular price that way, but you don't get as good a deal as when you subscribe. Some people prefer that option.
When you subscribe from Cricut, you get to use of a percentage of their designs while you subscribe, but you keep none at all when you stop subscribing. The sub is solely for temporary access. Their Disney and other licensed designs still have to be purchased at full price. They are not available with the subscription.
Consumers get to choose what options work best for them.
Nicole, I am glad you got your credits back in time to take advantage of the sale. I hope you find some designs you love. I was pretty sure that customer service chat could and would restore them to you. Again, it's ridiculous and annoying that you had to even ask, but I am glad that they did restore them. Happy shopping!

YAY!! I'll give a shout out for their customer service! My credit has been put back in and I have 30 days to use it! WOOOHOOO!! Thanks to everyone for suggesting to reach out. I probably would have just let it go otherwise. Off to shop! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Yay! ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/pompom.gif)

Umm...so now I have a $124 credit?! What in the world? This truly has to be the only time I've ever heard of people spending money and coming out with more than they started with. ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/grin.jpg.gif)

I wouldn't feel right about it. I will start a chat with them about it. Tonight, I checked out only using the credit I knew I fairly had.

I have this ongoing thing with Silhouette as they claim that anything I buy using my pre-paid credits is FREE. No, it isn't. I've paid for it already. (Sorry, I've said that before but I just have to get it off my chest <g>) nicolep don't bother about emailing them, get on the chat line and speak to someone who can do something there and then. $50 is not small change..... I totally agree - It's not free. On the Sil site I don't have a sub, I use a pre-paid card. When I put something in my cart it says free. It's not free, it's a reduction in my pre-paid balance. I have the same problem with other subscriptions too. (I'm talking to you Audible!) Agree about audible! I found out the hard way but they restored it. I bought a bunch of books to use my credits up but it left a sour taste.
