yes the bike 100.00 it's brand new with new helmet and light. get you'r lazyass out of the car , no I will not brink thing to you. do not yell from your car. most of you are cheap . I am not going to give you $5.00 stuff for a $1.00 or less. Prices are marked fair. Quite being so Freaking Cheap Part of me wants to say stop being lazy and use your caps key but more in fun then anything and you might not get the humor. I am curious. If something is 5.00 regular new price I can't imagine anyone selling it for more then a quarter in a yard sale. That's not being cheap. That is a normal yard sale price. I wouldn't pay more then 50 cents for a book in a yard sale. That's not being cheap. That's the going yard sale rate around here. I took that to mean an item priced at $5 people wanted to haggle on, not an item with a retail price of $5. OP - How did selling pop, water and chips go? Did that help make money?

i made almost 100.00 that went to paying MIL for our house. That is the reason we had the sale was to help raise money to pay her something down on our place. We are trying to stop her from selling the places. I am going to spend the next few week listing stuff on craig's list. let's see one women tried to change the price tag on one book she put a .10 sticker on a 3.00 book. I base book price on the local used book store prices. they are pretty cheap and fair on pricing. She was in a BMW dressed very well. With the way your MIL treats you, maybe it would be good to get away from her?

Ugh, we had a yard sale Saturday and only made $60.00. I haven't held one in years, but love going to them. People were being very cheap. One guy wanted to pay a ridiculous amount for an item DH had-DH told him he'd donate it before he'd sell it that low. We had a cool umbrella with a sword-like handle that was in new condition-a couple of people looked at it but wouldn't buy it for 50 cents.
I think in the future, I'll just donate and take the tax write-off.

I got rid of at least 8 large boxes of kids clothes yesterday and I am giving away two garbage bags full of Little PetShop this afternoon because it is not worth the headache of a yardsale. NOT LITTLE PETSHOP!!! I have been looking everywhere for those!!! My daughter LOVES those.. I went to a garage sale page on Thursday and a lady had posted a bunch of LPS.. so agreed to buy them.. back and forth we went, then all of a sudden she vanished... So irritating. So it isn't just regular garage sales.. even FB garage pages are full of flakes. Luckily our neighborhood has a FB page and I asked if anyone wanted them before I took them to Goodwill. I have a neighbour whose niece is going to have a ball with all of the "shops" and "pets".

I was just looking at craigslist and people are selling those for CRAZY amounts. One person had ONE LPS critter.. I don't know the 'name' for $25!!! REALLY for a little plastic toy?? (I am guessing they are collectibles OYE) I've seen that, too. Apparently once the animals stop being produced they become more valuable. Small toys have a tendency to go that route it seems. i think it's because they are more easily lost or broken. HOLY CRAP! Who knew?! I have a college fund sitting by my front door, lol

I have done a few yard sales, and every time I have sworn never again.
Now I give to a charity, offer stuff the charity won't take (like toys) on freecycle.org, or I will put it at the curb with a "FREE!" sign on it. Usually stuff on the curb disappears pretty fast.
If I had stuff I wanted to sell, I would consider a consignment shop rather than Craig's list. Too many scammers on CL for me.

I stopped having them years ago. Old women stealing stuff off my kid's sale table.
I donate and take the tax write off. Get more that way anyway.

When I had yard sales, I welcomed early birds and Fri night shoppers. Please buy it; take it away. If you buy it before I have to put it on the table that is one less thing and cash in my hand.
I found that the earlier the better, because of they can't start at your house because you are still setting up or have no early birds, they go on to someone else and spend money there.
I want them to buy my stuff. I price it cheap. Make me an offer, I'll end up giving it away anyway if it doesn't sell. It's all unwanted stuff to me or it wouldn't be in my yard sale.

I would rather have the tax deduction from Goodwill than a headache from a yard sale...
