Hi Survivor fans, and especially leannec ! I just realized Survivor starts this week and we don’t have a pool going. Has the whole pool thing gone kaput? Please say it isn’t so!

Did we ever figure out how much the stupid PayPal fees are?
If they aren’t too much, I would be willing to add my fees to my $5.00 entry fee just to play! I usually lose my $5.00 anyway! LOLOLOL!!!
It just makes the season SO much more fun!!

Paypal is now charging a service fee for even small transactions ... it blows I loved running the Pea Pools but this had made it impossible

I'm willing to add fees to my payments.

I think there might have been a larger service charge between the US and Canada. Maybe someone could volunteer to collect in the US then do one transaction from there?

ANOTHER IDEA … Not as fun though. Couldn't we still do the pool? Just not for $$? We may get a lot of people in it, but that would make the threads really fun. :-) Still by random draw like leannec always did before Paypal flaked.

I’m up for any ideas—do it from US if that would make a difference. I’d be willing to handle or help handle. Leanne, woulditmake any difference if we did from US? I’m kind of Pay Pal illiterate. I use it occasionally to pay for stuff, but that’s it.
Or could we use something other than PayPal, like what mikewoziwski suggested?
Let’s put our heads together, but w3 better do it quickly since the show premieres in nine days!

I can't find another payment platform other than Paypal that works from Canada An option would be to do e-transfers directly to my bank account ... do you all know how to do that? ... I could still pay out the winners through Paypal Thoughts?

I would be willing to do that and I bet most people would. What’s the difference to us how we send the money—paypal or e-transfer? Whatever works is good for me.

I'd be in for whatever Leanne or anyone comes up with. There are usually 7 of us who join the pool.

I'd be fine with that, Leanne, but does anyone know how this works here in the US? I ask because hubby, who is Canadian, used to send money to Canada and then I think regulations changed and it became very difficult to do so. I want to be in the pool if we can make it work, but the banking systems in the US are very different to the ones in Canada. By which I mean things are way easier in Canada! I'll ask hubby about it when he gets home from work.
