... can a single book be uploaded to? My sister is visiting and I'm wondering if I can add her device to my Amazon account so that she can read some of my faves...

I don't know that there is a limit. I have my Kindle, iPad, iPhone, DD's iPhone, DD's Kindle, and DD's iPad Mini. When I look at my device list on Amazon, it says I am on my 15th i device, and I have probably never cleaned one off.
The only problem with sharing is that any books purchased are charged to the default card on file.

I hit the limit but I don’t remember when. Just googled and it said 10 devices. But, when you add her to your account, I believe it wipes out her account on the device. Stacy

Stacy This is an important note to remember - if you add her device to your account she can see all of YOUR books, but all of HER books will go away. When she attaches the device back to her account all of YOUR books will go away, and HER books will come back. So as long as you are aware of how it works, it shouldn't be a problem.

She would have to register her kindle to your account in order to share your books. Her books would remain out there “in the Amazon cloud”. She could always unregister from your acoount and go back to her own account. I don’t know how closely Amazon watches that.
I think some KINDLE BOOKS have a limit of 6 or 8 devices to be reading the same book at the same time.

Anything on her DEVICE would remain. Meaning THE CLOUD books would change from your account back to hers but anything she downloaded from your cloud to her device would remain on her device.
