Was cleaning out my closet today and came across a few older ones.
Oldest is from the Mirage Hotel in Vegas from about 1990 (they had opened recently and I think it may have been the largest at that time). I liked it so much that I didn't wear it much. It's still in really good shape, heavy cotton but I caved and out it goes. If I have only worn it a few times in 28 years I don't think I'll wear it now. Also found a Disney Magic cruise ship--nice shirt--same thing--liked it too much to wear from 1998 and also an Alaska one from the late 90s--along with a ton of other stuff that is being given away/tossed.
But where did my 1975 Bruce Springsteen t-shirt go??? Guess it didn't make it through a prior purge.

Me personally, I think the oldest T-shirt is 3-4 years old. I don't buy souvenir shirts and I purge clothes regularly.
Now, DH? He has a shirt he wore for 7th grade track buried in a drawer. He was in 7th grade in 1995. I've managed to get him to give up many old shirts but that one, he won't part with.

i think i still have my 9th grade graduation t-shirt. so that's a 36 year old t-shirt.
ETA: lest i be suspected of being a hoarder, that's the only t-shirt i kept that i don't wear. all else are everyday t-shirts

My painting clothes [tshirt and sweats] are from my HS day Ca. 1982-1985. We've been painting this week and I was surprised the sweat pants still fit! Yes!

I have my PE shirt from middle school that I first got in 6th grade in 1998, I still wear it. It was like a tent on me when I was 10 but it fits just fine now and it is the softest shirt I own. I wear it when I’m sick.

Not a tee shirt, but I have a sweatshirt from 1992. It's from the Hard Rock in Paris. I still wear it, but only to bed. I also have a jean jacket from 1989. I traveled all over Europe and bought patches from different places. I sewed them on the jacket. I gave the jacket to my daughter and now she's wearing it. She gets lots of compliments on it. I tell her I was once pretty cool, and the jacket proves it!

I have a sweatshirt I bought to go Inter-railing in 1989. It has stretched over the years which is why it still fits! I also have a Royal Stewart tartan Levi's shirt which I bought when I was 15 (40 years ago!!!). I wore it constantly and it still looks great. My DD wears it now and totally rocks it! 😄

I still have my gymnastics sweatshirt and letter jacket from high school. I thought DD might want them someday. I graduated 33 years ago, and I had both for a couple years before that. Of stuff I actually still wear, that would probably be the t-shirt I bought in Hawaii when I was on my honeymoon, and that was 29 years ago. It’s frayed and ratty around the collar but I still wear it once in a while.

I think my oldest is a Howard Jones concert t-shirt from the mid eighties or Metallica t-shirt from the Monsters of Rock tour around 1987-88. I attended a ton of concerts back in the 80's and 90's and these are the only ones I have saved.

I recently finally got rid of DH's Revolting Cocks shirt from I think 1989. It was time. It had holes and a frayed neck. He loved that thing. LOL
As for me, I got rid of most of my heavy cotton Tshirts because I don't like how they fit or feel. Up until about a year ago I still had some from the late 80s/early 90s. I think I do still have a White Zombie t shirt from 1994 but I don't wear it.
The oldest one still in rotation is a Fossil shirt from maybe 2002 that says "It seemed like a good idea at the time", which is the story of my entire life.

Pub crawl T-shirt from 99 or a sweatshirt from about 95. The sweatshirt’s cuffs are raggedy but the rest is great. It was the most expensive thing anybody had bought me. I remember being surprised a boy who I was only kind of dating would buy it for me.
The pub crawl happens senior year, Friday before finals. It is a great (albeit a bit fuzzy) memory.

It's not a "souvenir" shirt, but a plain pocketed purple t-shirt that I've had since 1990 and is still totally wearable.

I have a Material Girl T-shirt from a Madonna concert in 1985ish. It was the best concert I've ever been to.

Mine is from 1982 that says “I’m his sister”. It was a t-shirt my dad had made for me because I was 13 when my brother was born and everyone thought I was his mom. Even the new moms who tried to talk to me about childbirth in line at the grocery store. lol

LOL I still have my middle school pe shirt too (early 90s). It has my last name in HTV and a number that I got to choose. It is super soft but I don't wear it much cuz it is starting to get holes around the HTV.

I have a shirt from the first day I met DH (May 1st, 1993) from the musicfets called Shindig at Frostburg University.
And a sweatshirt from The Gap circa 1984. I loved it and used my babysitting money to buy it. My DH wears it all the time.

My class of 1979 t-shirt. My daughter used to wear it for Way Back Wednesday during Homecoming week when she was in High School!
I also have a college sweatshirt of my Dad’s from 1972, I think. My sister and I pass it back and forth every 4 or 5 years. It’s quite soft but no longer fits either of us!

Even the new moms who tried to talk to me about childbirth in line at the grocery store. lol my DS could have used a similar one that said "I'm her brother" - he turned 15 less than 3 weeks after my youngest was born and people were always assuming she was his child.

I have a t-shirt from the Bruce Springsteen Born in the USA tour. I saw this concert in 1985 at the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium (with a high school boyfriend). It's the shirt with Bruce's butt on the front. Needless to say, it's very small so I don't wear it anymore, but I love that I still have it. My dh has his t-shirt from the first Lollapalooza, in 1991.
