This is a challenge in the memory of our 2Peas friend, donna . She passed away on July 5th 2018 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. It will be a monthly challenge. Before Donna died she really wanted to get the albums she was making for her boys, finished. The Peas were amazing and created over 200 photoless LOs to send to Donna so she could add her photos and achieve this goal. She had stories to tell and wanted to get them told. So in Donna's memory I think we should all scrap our own important stories. You'll know when you've done one of those special LOs, one of those ones you've been procrastinating about but it's a story or photo you really wanted to get in an album. You'll know when it's a Donna worthy LO because it's something personal to you. It would be great if you share it here or just let us know you've done something you think is Donna worthy. And because donna was a chemistry teacher, I'm throwing in an equation each month as an extra challenge. So this months equation is: Washi Tape, a Unicorn, title must be touching your photo (at least some part of it anyway) and a full border all the way around the edge.
You must use all items, but if you don't have something, you can substitute something you feel is similar, please don't feel like you can't take part because you don't have an equation item, just pick something similar. Also when it says use 3 of an item, you can use more if you want, as long as there's at least 3 it's good. Do each challenge separately or feel free to combine them. To see how to point this for team challenges, check out the challenge thread here and it's challenge #37.

Thanks for keeping Donna's memory alive with this monthly challenge, kiwigirl. And just a note to myself: a Donna worthy page does not have to be earth shattering, in topic or in final product. It just needs to be a page showing love for either the page subject or for this hobby. It needs to record a memory that is important to either me or for my family. The whole idea of this was: Don't wait for the perfect time to scrap a memory. Do it NOW while we can...

I thought I would tackle this one first this month. Funny story, I said add a unicorn because I thought I had a pack of them sitting on my desk. So they weren't unicorns.... they were flamingos! How dozy am I! Luckily I did find a unicorn in my stash (seriously, you could say find a red cat wearing a purple striped tuxedo holding a dandelion and wearing a top hat and I could probably find it somewhere!). The background is what I did when I first got the Nuvo Shimmer Powders to test them out and also, the coloured embossing bits are Nuvo Embossing Pastes. So I thought I'd use the page up! I've used washi tape and made my full, complete border out of washi tape. Taking 24 points for this one, 1 for a LO, 1 for sharing, #3, #7, #12, #13, #17, #20, #21, #22, #23, #25, #26, #27, #35, #36, #37, #38, #39, #41, #42, #53, Sept Stash challenge - label/tab and Sept Bonus Challenge old is the old Heidi Swapp wood word and new is some of the washi tape I ordered on eBay and it came from Hong Kong.

I love it kiwigirl. If I tried to do even half of what you did to that layout - it would a HOT mess but you? You are talented and it all pulls together into a great layout - love all the colours and the washi border! Had to laugh at your unicorns being flamingos...I am 99.9% sure I don't own a single unicorn anything but I do have flamingos (they are one of my favourite birds....and I think I've thought of a Donna layout I can do using flamingos...don't worry, not the equation challenge)

ok, here's my donna LO. not a deep or heartfelt thing, but a story important to me ETA i just realized the protective coating for one of my acrylic stars fell on the page it's on the little banner under the title. that damn daylight savings time by sadkid, on Flickr the journaling is on the back and it reads: Apparently back in the day my Grandpa Moore was good at picking birthdates of upcoming babies. So when my mother was pregnant with me and due in July, he named the 3rd as the day I’d be born. Fast forward to July, and lo and behold, my mother went into labor on July 3rd! I guess I was already used to doing things my way though, because I didn’t make my grand entrance until well after midnight, thereby making my birthdate July 4th. Afterwards, my dad and grandpa had a conversation where Grandpa stated I would have been born on the 3rd as he’d predicted, if only it weren’t for that damn daylight savings time! My dad loves this story and has told it to me more than once. I have to say, I love this story too!

Great story stinkerbelle and a great photo! I love that you've left it like it is and not cropped right in too so you can still see the pictures on the wall, actually, the cool wall! Love the florals and the black & white stripe and your cute little clusters of banners and labels and of course, the awesome big title! It's a fab LO, I totally love it all

Linda great LO, fab story to get down on a LO and I adore those touches of turquoise (green? I am colourblind, I'm struggling with that colour but it's lush whatever it is) they look superb!

Thank you - it's a green-ish turquoise I think - I was trying to match the small dots of turquoise in the background paper but I think they may have been too subtle

This is my October Donna layout. I did not follow the formula but knew as soon as I made it that it was a Donna page. Thanksgiving Manicure- My youngest daughter with her Grandmother last Thanksgiving. This was grandmas last manicure by Jo. She had lived with us almost 4 yrs. and had gone on Hospice in Oct. My brother's husband and family came for Thanksgiving and She wanted fun nails. She passed in April. There is private journaling on the tag behind the right photo. Purple was her favorite color and she loved butterflies. (thus the embellishments)

This is my Donna LO. As soon as I saw that unicorns were in the equation for this month I immediately thought about my sister, who passed away from illness when she was 16yo. When she was sick someone had told her that unicorns were magic and could make dreams come true. Points: 1 for the LO, 1 for sharing, #12, #18, #20, #21, #26, #27, #32, #37 Donna LO + equation, #38, #41, #54 TOTAL = 19 points
