To all of our fellow peas in the Panama City Beach and Gulf Coast area in the path of Hurricane Michael: we will be keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers during the coming days that you remain safe and damage is minimal. Hopefully everyone has finished their hurricane prep and left the area if at all possible. Take care and check in with us when you have a chance.

Batten down the hatches and stay safe! Here's hoping he blows through quickly with little wind or water damage.

Watching the news last night, it still wasn’t a cat 4, one store owner decided to stick it out so they could reopen their store as quickly as possible. I couldn’t believe that their store was more important than their lives. I hope they are ok.
Stay safe everyone!!

Pressure dropped to 919mb and winds over 150 mph. It's going to be destructive. Stay safe! Here a feed at Panama City. I'm amazed people are driving around with all the flying metal. www.pscp.tv/w/1mnxeopjyNWGX?t=14m44s

Lost part of a small tree in front and part of a large one in back back The 16 . No tall pines fell so our house or vehicles are ok. Road out front is a sea of twigs.
The 16 chickens and their house are fine although we lost electricity this morning so their light is reduced to 2 small windows.
Hope everyone else in the Panhandle is ok. Without electricity I have little news.

I have an American friend who has evacuated - must be so scary. I’m watching FB for updates. I do hope it somehow isn’t as bad as is feared.

It went in enough east of me that I got only lots of wind gusts and intermittent downpours. This was my fourth hurricane, but only the first that landed east of me. The other three hit Pensacola directly or slightly to our west and were HORRENDOUS. We were without power for two to three weeks each time and once with a live oak our roof. I feel for those in Panama City!

I am near Panama City - came down last weekend to spend the week with my mom (we have the same birthday)
It is horrible-trees down, roads blocked, there are so many power poles down and I imagine it will takes weeks to restore it
We are ok - 5 trees down, shingles laying in the yard, limbs everywhere, no power (of course) but we are ok and the house is fine (other than several shingles blown off)
