I noticed on the Dear Lizzy and Shimelle threads that many people did not care for the papers (at least, for the A sides). What brand do you think knocks it out of the park every time with their patterned paper?
My first pick would be Felicity Jane. I feel like her patterns are always very usable for scrapbooking, as opposed to being just pretty paper with a large motif that was fun to design but impossible to use. I also like that the B sides are always black and white so that you have an option if you're not a fan of her colors in a certain month.
I also love My Mind's Eye papers. I don't love every line they put out but I always feel like they have really strong papers. The only thing I wish is that they'd have less foiled papers. I love foiled papers but the B sides always have a bit of an indent from the foiling so I feel like it makes them less usable.
I'm interested to hear what everyone else has to say!

Most of my favorite papers are from Cocoa Daisy. The only thing that comes close for me is the older October Afternoon and Pink Paislee (Moonstruck is still a favorite). I have individual pieces or collections I love, but overall, no manufacturer or designer consistently hits it out of the park for me.

I like pattern paper that isn't too bright and definitely not feminine. I prefer the B sides of most pattern paper (more subtle). I usually like the boy collections for this reason. I like Echo Park, Simple Stories, and Carta Bella, and Graphic 45 (for heritage photos).
If there's a theme to the photos, I prefer to use paper that matches. I'm a simple scrapper and it makes it easier for me to finish a page quickly.

Photoplay, Carta Bella, and Echo Park are generally go to companies for me. They generally have less pink and fewer flowers than most of the other companies. I love bright and bold. I love lots of different colors, but I will avoid most lines with pastels. I also find Simple Stories has some good lines.

I scrap a lot of little boy and seasonal pages, so for that I like most of echo park and carta bella's lines. And Simple Stories and Photo Play. Some of the lines get carried away with bold graphics that steal attention away from the photos, but most have a fun vibe and colours I can use.
KaiserCraft seems to have the softer colours and more subtle designs and papers that can back up almost any photo.
I am liking that most of the newer lines have stamp and die sets that coordinate with them, so I can create embellishments that go with my pages.

Tough question. There was a time when I bought every single thing that basic grey and crate paper produced.
Now, it's much more line specific. I will often love one line and hate the next from the same company.
For quality, MME and Carta Bella/EP are at the top of my list.
Honestly, I miss the days of "I love it all!"

Pink fresh! Not only are they different and not the same old same old pink/turquoise/gold with weird “whimsical “ icons but the quality of the patterned paper is fabulous Pinkfresh every time

My Mind’s Eye, Pinkfresh Studio, Echo Park would be my top 3 for the weight of their cardstock. As far as pretty patterned papers, I check out all lines by any brand to see what I like as it’s rare for me to love everything that a brand produces. I typically grab most of Crate Paper’s collections, although they don’t have the best paper weight.

Felicity Jane Carta Bella PinkFresh Studio Crate Paper They seem to be the lines I use the most for pattern paper lately. And most of them are really good thick quality and texture. I love Heidi Swapp too but if you get a pad of her paper - it’s thinner. I did just order the whole new line she has with her special half price deal on Instagram so I am hoping I love it all. She has pretty stuff!

Normally I would think Felicity Jane but her papers for the last two months have been blah. I usually buy all of Crate and find ways to use it.

If I had to pick one manufacturer it would probably be Crate Paper because I find their patterns the most usable. But for quality, Pinkfresh is amazing, such thick papers. I've just ordered my first Cocoa Vanilla so I am excited to try them too.

For me it's Crate Paper too. Not Maggie Holmes though, just their normal collections. I recently had great success using Doodlebug's Hello line as well, I found the papers very usable and loved the colours and I'm waiting for them to bring out another line that catches my attention. Still miss Basic Grey

Definitely Crate Paper for me, but Fancy Pants isn’t too far behind. I like a lot of Echo Park, but find them too themed for me to use. Carts Bella puts out some pretty papers, but I cannot stand the texture and heaviness of the paper. Pink Fresh is ok, but the geometrical/modern papers are hard for me to use. I recently used a collection from Photoplay and really liked it, mostly because it was based off of the primary colors which I think are missing from lots of lines.

Cocoa Vanilla- beautiful patterns and nice thick paper. PinkFresh Where do you buy your Cocoa Vanilla papers from? Is there a place in Calgary? I was looking at the CV midnight thread and someone pointed out the Boys Rule line, and those papers are gorgeous! And they look really versatile. Would work on their own, but also blend well with some of the more busy papers from ep.

Hard to say because there are so many papers that are so similar now. Some Crate Paper and some Cocoa Daisy, though I no longer sub to CD.

I just saw on Facebook that scrapshotz.com (based in Calgary) just got in Midnight as well as Boys Rule and Bohemian Dreams. I might have to check it out. It's supposed to be up in the store in the next 24 hours.

I will have to check if they have a "pick up in store" option. I will be down that way for a week: should be able to swing by the store if they actually have a retail outlet.

Carta Bella is the current paper winner for me. I love the rich colors, the detailed illustrations, and the texture and weight of their papers!
I used to love Crate Paper designs, but I have been so disappointed in the muted colors and lighter weight paper this year. They have dropped quite a few spots for me.

Simple Stories, Echo Park, Carta Bella, Elle's Studio, Photoplay, Pinkfresh, Authentique (I'm noticing a theme - none of these are American Crafts with the overabundance of pink, floral, and weird random icons). I would love to try out Cocoa Vanilla, but it's hard to find and pricey.
