I've been to Costco but it's been a while. A brand new one is opening up just a few miles from my home this Thursday. I think it's going to be my husband's and I "date" for the day. We're retired and could use a bit of Costco opening excitement So what should I make sure to buy. Any and all suggestions appreciated.Thanks.

Cilantro-lime prawns. They're ready to serve, over by the deli salads, etc. Since it's just me I portion them out and freeze a couple of portions and eat the rest within a few days.

I think the organic ground turkey is great.
They have a red tin of Christmas cookies this time of year that are yummy. I bring to church to serve with coffee.

Our new Costco opens next weekend. I signed up for a membership a few days ago. I'm reading this with great interest.

I buy a lot of the things already mentioned.
I also like the Kirkland laundry detergent.
They have a good selection of books. Right now they have a lot of the books from PBS's Great American Read. I bought my aunt a beautifully bound copy of The Call of the Wild.
I just bought my Christmas wrapping paper and ribbon at Costco.

I love Costco. My biggest tip is to go at 9:30am on a Saturday, Avoid going in the afternoon on the weekends. It's crazy crowded. You will find great deals. Check their signs because they will let you know if they are on special. You will find great deals on clothes. Syrup, pancake mix, bread, chicken breasts, strawberries, grapes and bananas are priced great. I have found deals on computers and tvs. You can even pick up some good remodeling deals, like outdoor lighting or faucets. I actually stay away from paper goods because I can usually get them at a better price. But when they are on special, I take advantage. And their Kirkland brand in almost everything is great. Even the shampoo.

Cheese. All the cheese.
I also like some of their salad mixes, the Asian one is really good and we usually add salmon or chicken to make it a quick meal.
We also like the Kirkland detergent that looks like the tide pods everyone was eating awhile ago.
If you have pets check out the pet aisle, the cat litter is good and they have good dog treat.
Magazines are discounted too, I like to check them out.

Dark chocolate, Coconut almonds They have women’s shearling slippers for $20 and they are so warm and comfy. I spent $300 there this week and didn’t buy either thing I mentioned. It’s a great store. I rarely regret anything I get there. Jen

It was so good!!!

Yes. I hope they have rugelach. I was at the one in Minneapolis a couple weeks ago and they didn't have it. I'm on the east coast so I think they might.

I don't have Costco, but my Mom does. Every few months I go with her as her guest. I like... Kirkland Double "A" batteries. 70-ish of them for around $20 Kirkland Kitchen trash bags. One box lasts me about a year. Vanity Fair napkins
And I always look in the bakery area, at all the goodies.

One more thought: Costco rebates on flooring with a Costco cash card. We put 10k worth of flooring in last year and got a $1000 cash card back (10%). They are currently offering a 15% back, which is really nice. They contract it out locally.

I don't know where to begin. But if you have an Instagram account make sure you follow Costco Does It Again and Costco Deals because they will point out everything you never knew you needed. Here's some of the staples I buy quite often. Rotisserie chicken Frozen organic blueberries ( or pretty much all their frozen fruit) Stacys Pita chips Jalepeno Artichoke dip (to go with the above pita chips) Beef Jerkey vitamins & motrin applesauce pouches Everything bagel (like they sell at Trader Joes only its bigger) olive oil Gift cards (check out what they sell, it's different at every location, but you can buy gift cards to local restaurants they are at least 20% off the retail price) Kirkland Vodka (https://www.thekitchn.com/costco-kirkland-french-vodka-review-258060) Wine- costco is now the biggest seller of alcohol, prices are very good towels almond flour (great price) chicken cilantro wontons I could probably go on all night, but that's off the top of my head.

I was in Costco last weekend.❤️ I only get a few trips a year since our closest is 1.5 hours away.😥
I found the most AMAZING cheese last week: Merlot BellaVitanno.😮😮😮😮
I never would have bought it if it weren’t for the samples LOL. I think it’s my favorite cheese ever!
Our Costco must haves are individually-wrapped frozen chicken breaths and Aidell’s chicken and apple sausage. We also love the five-cheese tortellini, but I don’t remember the brand.
Always check the lightbulb aisle. Our Costco always has deals on LED bulbs. I bought the chandelier dimmable bulbs for less than $2 each after discount. I got a package of 6 for a little more than I would normally pay for a package of two.
I also bought the clear globe LEDs for my bathroom at a similar discount.

Our Costco also sells Blue Apron packaged meals for cooking at home. They only stock on option at a time but they are fun to try.

I find these threads so interesting because I have been a Costco shopper forever (it started in my area), and there are always so many things that you all list that I've never heard of!

The St Louis BBQ ribs. We cook them in the Instant Pot (which you can also buy there now if you don’t already have one). All the cheese. Anything from the bakery. Fresh fruit. Chobani yogurt or the Kirkland version of the same. Sectioned grapefruit in cups. Coffee. Cereal. Double sided gift wrap.
We recently got a Costco Business Center in our area and they carry a whole different selection of stuff than the regular Costcos have. It’s an entirely different animal. We only go to that one maybe once a month to stock up on the snack items they don’t sell at our normal location, including Super Pretzels, Keebler Mini m&m cookies, Assorted Goldfish cracker packs and other stuff.
