SPOILER!! I had to quit watching at the end. Having just lost 2 friends (deputies), in a shoot out, I just couldn’t watch. I’m just reading this and sending you late hugs. I’m sorry for your loss.

I’m pleasantly surprised. I expected his character to be more, well, Nathan Fillion / Castle, but I like how down to earth these made him. I don’t like the love story aspect. It isn’t needed so far, so unless they come up for a really good reason for it I wish they would have left it out. I know they’re playing up the fact that his trainer has told the girlfriend to break up, but I don’t see it going anywhere interesting. I hadn’t thought about him being rich. I thought they were setting it up for a great cameo, but the fact that he sold his business makes sense he would be rich. Ooohhh! A cameo of someone famous who’s away filming a movie would be cool, too 😀

I loved it but I do love Nathan Fillion.. so it would have to be pretty bad for me not to like it.. lol.
But honestly I did like it. I do think he is rich and the house is his. And the love interest doesn't seem to be a good match.. maybe cause I keep picturing Beckett. She seems way to young for him. Now someone like me.. I'm his age.. I would be perfect... HAHAHA...

I loved him more in the first episode's first 15 minutes when he was scruffy looking... holy heartthrob!! He's cute cleaned up, but dang, those first few minutes had me wide awake!

Regarding Nolan and Chen as a couple....I didn’t feel it rang true. Before even watching the episode, I had the notion that Chen will be killed in the line of duty. That the writers basically set them up as a couple in order to kill her off. After watching tonight’s episode, I’m still thinking this will be the case. It’s mentioned several times during the episode that 1 in 3 rookies washes out/doesn’t make it. I think this is foreshadowing a different outcome. Just my 2 cents. I’m not sure I think Nolan is independently wealthy/owns the beach house. I especially liked tonight’s episode. I like that we are getting some glimpses into some of the training officers’ lives and thoughts.
