My daughter needs help and I'm at a loss to get her started.
I also think the worksheet is misleading. I don't think all the variables are labeled correctly.

When does this need to be done? I can put some of my math students on it tomorrow.
Ummmm.... all triangles add up to 180. All 4 sided shape angles add up to 360. Straight lines add up to 180.
X, O, C, R, and m/7 are all the same measure, I think.
N=w+10
P=2D
X+4=I
F+4=G/3
3Y=Q
S=H-1
U=4X+7
4J=B-5
K=V
No clue if any of that helped.
K=T

Of course, tomorrow. Lol
We were confused on the use of the variable x.
The 2x + 8 and 4x + 7 don't seem logical.
And no starting point that's obvious.

Would you assume 3y, x, H-1,Q, R, and S are equal?
And R, X +4, and P are equal?

3y+x+h-1=180 X=181-h-3y
2x+8+l = 180 2x= 172-l
4x+7+k=180 4x=173-k
x=180-2y-z
181-h-3y =180-2y-z 1-h-y= -z Or 1-h+z =y

Because it is easier for me to keep work simple equations , I would keep working out equations until I got to the point that I must use fractions.
Matrices are the easy way to solve this.

This worksheet was out of the blue. He said it was a refresher. They are working on proofs. Thank for trying to help us. It gets stuck in tour head and just want to alive it.

I'm not sure how I missed this @megmc.
She turned it in yesterday (lol) and I will be sure to update when she gets it back.
I'm still thinking about it...

That math problem looks like some kind of alien language to me. I was going to say that looks like something they got off the ship at Roswell. Also, we love Kahn Academy in our house, but we're still only doing 7th grade math where they have you doing processes then repeating that over and over until you get the steps down.

R = X and 3Y + X + (H-1) = 180
right? I hated geometry, and those are the first things that jump out at me.
and S = H-1, 3Y = Q, and R - X, because opposite angles are identical-- I think?
there's waaaay too many variables to solve for in that spaghetti mess, in my opinion- lol! That's why I was a zoology major!!

If the two unarrowed lines are parallel then I got 56 for x... but that is probably an invalid assumption.
edited, oops typo ... 56

Also, we love Kahn Academy in our house, but we're still only doing 7th grade math where they have you doing processes then repeating that over and over until you get the steps down. My classroom kids loved Khan Academy, so sometimes I would watch the video several times and present it exactly like the video. Blank stares. I'd show the video and the kids would completely get it. Kids like videos! I also think the simplicity of them is a factor.

I also think the simplicity of them is a factor. as a non math person I can clearly understand what he's doing. If she's at the point where she's coming to me for help then we're deep in the weeds so finding a simple video is a HUGE deal.
