Chapter 816 in the book of things that my brain will likely forever be curious about.
Our local fall street festival started last night and around 10 as we were driving across a backroad heading home we saw that there were 2 cars that were stopped in our lane. A truck was stopped on the opposite side for a few seconds and as we came to a stop behind the 2nd car in our lane the truck started moving again. The cars in our lane stayed still. We sat there for a few seconds and then my dh got out of the car to go an see if it was an accident or what.
As he opened the car door another truck pulled up, put the window down for a second and talked to the driver of the car that was stopped in the front and suddenly the doors opened, two men got out and ran to the other car and grabbed someone. We're unclear if the other person was in the front car or outside of it, but dh said it was someone who was completely limp. They put the person in the backseat of the car, started to get in the truck and the guy who was driving yelled across to the other car "The gun is in the house" as he gunned it and took off with the limp person in the backseat.
DH heard gun and got back in the car, thankfully he turned when he did or they likely would've hit him. The car that was stopped in the front turned into the driveway and the car in front of us continued down the road.
WHAT IN THE WORLD???
Hit me with your best scenarios, I've been thinking about this all day long.
Did they hit a pedestrian? Did someone get shot? It didn't look like a car accident.
You would be intrigued by this too right?
Ultimately, we called 911 as soon as they peeled out and let them know where they were headed, what we saw and heard, and gave them a plate number. They headed in the direction of town and town has a hospital so hopefully, that's where they were going. I checked local news sites and the jail roster and didn't see anything that seemed like it could be it.
Whoever they are, I hope it wasn't as bad as it looked.
