But have you ever had anyone in your household jam their dirty laundry (including wet towels) into the hamper, and maybe the wash doesn't get done for several days? Not a pleasant smell, and while the towels smell fine after they've been washed and dried, the minute you start drying yourself with the towel that funky smell comes back. Even worse is dish rags that haven't air dried before throwing them in the hamper. Gross. i do hate that musty smell. everyone in my house uses the kitchen sponge but often neglect to wring it out.... that smell is gross (((gag))). i guess it doesn't happen with my towels because we hang them on the back of the door and i collect dirty towels from there but they are dry.... and we throw dirty dishcloths down the stairs into the basement (unfinished basement... it's the unofficially laundry chute - lol!). can't blame you for bleaching - that smell would drive me nuts too.

There's a bleach dispenser?

I only use it for towels and washcloths or occasionally, underwear, but I've never had a problem. Check the dispenser before your next load, you'll see if it still has bleach in it.
You could also use oxiclean directly in the washer. I use that if there has been a cat accident, it's great for smells.

There's a bleach dispenser? I've never had a washer that didn't have one.

I never use bleach, can't I'm extremely sensitive to it, both the smell and on my skin. I put a little white vinegar in every wash, that gets chemical smells and musty smells out of clothes.

rickmer I also throw dish towels and dish cloths down the stairs to the basement (also unfinished). I wondered if I was weird. Never lived in a house with a basement until this one.

I just have to laugh at the "approximately two teaspoons" of water per load. It's utterly ridiculous, isn't it? My car threw up on my comforter last night and even with the machine set to bedding and deep fill I've still had to out it through two cycles. Each time I've taken it out there have been dry spots and it isn't clean. It's third time through will be done in a few minutes.
I'm so glad the machine saves so much water so I can waste more electricity rewashing things. Ugh.

I use bleach tablets instead of the liquid.
