So for cmas I want to buy a few throws for my parents and girls for their living rooms to just snuggle in. I've heard lost of posts on here about the Kohls big throw. Is it really all that? What other brands are good? I want something soft, that still looks good after numerous washes, something a good size, but great price?!

After years of hearing raves here about those Kohl's throws, I got two of them last fall and we used the crap out of them all winter. They're super thick and soft. I was very impressed!

Is the price they are at now a great deal? $16.99 Or is there a super Black Friday deal on these usually?

Definitely the Kohl's throw. We have lots of them, and we use them every night. They wash beautifully too!

I thought the throws are fine for the price and wash well, but we like the thicker throws from Costco. At the warehouse, they are sold individually and will sometimes be on sale. If you buy now, just keep your receipt in case they do go on sale so you can simply request a price adjustment later. No Costco's close by

This is what I was going to say too. I bought a couple of the Kohl’s ones last year online on Thanksgiving Day and they were under $10 each. For the money they’re really nice. BUT I found one (literally ONE) on clearance at Costco for something like $9 that is thicker, very warm and super soft. It’s definitely the nicer of the two and I think they are comparable in size. The brand is Life Comfort, but the one I have isn’t the sherpa lined kind they have on their website and in the stores right now. Those are 2/$29.99 and at that price ($15 each) it would be a great deal for what they are. It says they’re sold out online and backordered, but I saw a huge pallet of them in the store last week.

The Sams version is even better than the Costco one. I’ve bought both and find the Sams to be softer and comes in more colors/patterns. I’m relaxing under the gray and white polar bear one right now. m.samsclub.com/ip/members-mark-oversized-cozy-throw/prod20391797?xid=plp_product_1_1#

I have bought and given as gifts a ton of the Kohl's throws, and they are huge hits.
For my own use, I love the ones from Sam's and have a bunch of them in different rooms around the house.
We finally got a Costco in our area - it opened yesterday - but I haven't seen their throws yet.

I buy most of our throws at Tuesday Morning. They have so many styles and colors and are so soft. They've always washed up great.

The Costco Sherpa throws are fantastic. They get them in around late July and when I was there a week or two ago, they still had some.

The Kohl's throws are great--they wash well and still look like new 2 years later. The kids have the same as blankets on their beds and they are probably 10 years old and still look like new. They are warm, but they aren't heavy. If you like a heavy throw, I got DS this one: Cuddle Duds Throw from Kohl's, knowing he wanted the heavier weight. He has it at college, so I can't tell you how often it's been washed (hopefully at least once a year!) But we were there last week visiting and he had it on his chair and it looked good.

I've got some Kohl's throws and I like them OK, but don't think they're super thick. My favorite is one I got from Berkshire Blankets. I've washed it so much and still soft and plush.

I bought one at Wal-Mart last year as a gift - it happened to be the color I needed. OMG that thing is amazing. The "fur" silkier than my other throws (from TJ Maxx and I don't know where else), and it's super warm without making you sweat like some cheap blankets do. There's no Kohl's near me, so I can't compare, but if you have Wal-Mart, definitely take a look there. I gifted the Wal-Mart throw to a household where I spend a lot of time, so I've gotten to try it out!

I recently bought my first Kohls big throw, based on the previous recommendations here. I love it! It is so soft. I washed and dried, and still so soft. It is longer in length than the average size throw so it covers ones feet nicely. I like it so much that I want to buy a second one.

My vote is the Kohl’s one...I wouldn’t pay full price though. I've washed my weekly almost for the past two years and it still looks brand new.

I was a late adopter of the Kohl’s throws. Santa left one next to everyone’s stocking last Christmas after taking advantage of the BF deal. They are super soft , a perfect size and wash beautifully. A year later they have been used a ton and all four still look brand new.

I have to work BF. do they do sales before that? or the online monday sale? I ordered mine online from Kohl’s right away in the morning on Thanksgiving Day last year. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the order showed up.

I have to work BF. do they do sales before that? or the online monday sale? The last few years kohl's has started their black Friday sale the Monday before online. The throws come in a bunch of designs, but some will sell out fast.

Not as inexpensive as a Kohl's throw, but if you want something really warm and snuggly, these Martha Stewart throws from Macy's are my favorite indulgence. Mine are from last season, and they're actually a larger cable knit. My parents gave me mine for Christmas and then I bought one for DD. Strangely enough, my dog will even pull these out of the blanket basket and make herself cozy. What can I say??? She has great taste! Martha Stewart Throw

I bought 3 throws last year as Christmas gifts for each of us in this house and we adore them. I got them from Land's End (landsend.com) and while they cost more (regular price $39.95) Land's End is always having a sale-right now it's 30% of everything. Last year near Christmas I think I got them for either 40 or 50% off. They are very warm but I never sweat under them. They are called Sherpa Fleece Throw Blanket and are large at 50" x 70", with smooth silky fabric on one side and warm sherpa fleece on the other. I like the smooth fabric next to me.
They have high reviews on the Land's End sight and I can tell you everyone in this house loves them.
