I found this new channel this month and she takes you through using a collection and making certain cuts and putting them in piles , then creating layouts with them. A bit like Shimelle's Collection class but different. I followed along with this one (but with different collection) I created 6 layouts using it! I would not do this all the time, but it was a great mojo starter! Just thought other's might enjoy it as well. I will try to share my layouts later www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3wSMrOMFmE

It really reminded me of CTMH with the cutting. Off to see the finished pages.

I don't even scrapbook and I found that process oddly fascinating. It reminds me a lot of the card making videos Kristie Marcotte makes where she creates 30+ cards from a single 6x6" paper pad.

I don’t usually scrapbook in 12x12 layouts, I’m a PL girl. But as I move backwards I’m going to get to DS childhood and these type of pages will work nicely. I’m thinking it would be so easy to adapt these to any random collection of papers.

Thanks for sharing that - it looks like a great way to get caught up for events where I have a ton of pictures and they can all be scrapped with the same collection!

Those are great layouts DawnMcD I especially love the family portrait. It seems like a pretty efficient way to use lots of different papers without being wasteful. I watched the video with the Where the Wild Things Are-inspired collection pack too, and it seemed like a good way to turn a pack like that into a good stack of coordinating layouts. The videos are strangely soothing (I'm not actually a scrapbooker) but I'm hoping she figures out the sound levels as she goes on - I want to hear what she says when she breaks in, but she's so quiet.

Thanks for sharing both the link and your gorgeous layouts DawnMcDjoblackford - I agree about the sound. A couple of times it startled me. ha! I have a few more pages to make for an ongoing gift album and will give this a try so I can knock them out.

Thanks for sharing this, DawnMcD. I could definitely use some inspiration for putting my paper pads to good use. I love the stack you used. The papers are gorgeous and so are your layouts. TFS!

Thanks for sharing DawnMcD your layouts are beautiful! I love the collection you chose for those vintage photos. Beautiful Chinagirl828! I mostly scrap from collection packs and I'm finding I waste a lot of paper. I love the idea of using everything up! I'm going to try this! And it sounds like a way to get some pages done quickly and lord knows I need that!

Chinagirl828 so beautiful! I love what you did with these. Good to hear that the principle still works even without following along exactly with gutting the backgrounds.
