Welcome to the last Friday of the month and my last challenge. Do you reach for white card stock every time you want to stamp an image? I know it's a habit for me. Today we are going to challenge that by stamping and coloring an image on kraft card stock. To color the image, you can use inks, watercolors, colored pencils or markers. Here are some Youtube videos to help with the various mediums: Colored pencils: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpmfwkTtrxAWatercolor pencils or Copic markers www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXPxOuC-B6AWatercolor www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3dQp3Jptd8One tip for you from me - try out your colors on a scrap piece of kraft paper. They may take on a different hue due to the kraft. The colors I ended up using on my card were not my first choice. And I did use Copics for my card. CARDtober Challenge #26 by Pat Doyle, on Flickr

That is a lovely card, freeatlast, and the videos are very helpful. I have never done anything like this before.

Great challenge! I am definitely guilty of always using white cardstock. Luckily I have a good stack of nice kraft I inherited, and I think I will take inspiration from your gorgeous Christmas card and try out my poinsettia stamp again, but with markers this time. I might even try out using a white gel pen to add highlights - something I've been meaning to do. And maybe starting with kraft will give it a more finished look than the plain white so I can get away with doing less

freeatlast oh that is a stunning card! Gorgeous. I have seen colouring done on kraft and I always think it's looks brilliant. I've never tried printing colour on kraft although I've meant to; perhaps I'll give it a try!

I did a very quick stamp and color just to try out the concept and I like it! I'm going to have to unmount this old rubber stamp because I need to be able to restamp it in my Tiny Tim (did a lot of filling in missed bits with a black fineliner) but the coloring was pretty quick and fun, so I could make a lot of this card easily. I didn't have to guts to add any white highlights yet - afraid I would ruin it... Next time I might mount the kraft panel on a background, but for a quick one layer card this worked well. joblackford, that is a beautiful card. It seems we are going for poinsettia stamps. Anyway, that is what I chose, without even thinking that was what freeatlast had used for the sample. I usually try to avoid being a blatant copy, but not this time. I stamped and colored the image on Friday, but I did not have time to finish it till yesterday evening. I used prills for the center of the flower, and Wink of Stella on the die cuts. I'm not sure I like the white die cuts. I think I should have done them in a dark green or something. This was a good challenge, though. It got me to try something I had never done before.

joblackford and scrapnnana, thanks for playing along. It's like we were all channeling our poinsettia and holly vibe! Both cards are lovely and festive! I'm glad you enjoyed coloring on kraft and hope you'll add it to your technique bag of tricks in the future.

Haha that's so funny that we all did a variation on the same thing!

I couldn't find a poinsettia or i would have used one too! Your cards are all better than mine...I did do all this by hand, on the graphic tablet. A bit of cheating with tracing the outlines and still I couldn't draw a straight line!

I'm impressed! I can't use a graphics tablet to save me. I think it's very cute!
