Yep, I signed up last night. I will miss the first live video today (we will be at Universal Orlando) but I should be around for the other 5. I'll report back!

I came here to see what the word was on this class. I too have so many unfinished classes, but this sounded interesting and different. I may have to cave!

It sounded pretty interesting from what she was saying on her Monday Fbk Live video. I'm not actually scrapbooking these days, but I almost want to sign up just because I like her and I'm nosey and I love to see behind the scenes of things. The full description sounds even more interesting. Of all the ways I could spend $25 and several hours of my time this is not a bad option...

(I signed up)
I figure that I get great value for money from JYC (I would happily pay an alumni fee each year if she charged it) so what the heck, may as well splurge a little to support someone I like.

i love her classes (which i honestly take for the videos; i rarely make anything from a class) but this holds no real interest for me. i don't do "albums" so i'm sure i would enjoy watching her scrap, and i might even find her process interesting, but it's not something i'd learn from and definitely not something i'd pay for.

I've watched the first couple (out of 3?) of videos and so far it's been about organizing photos and planning and workflow. I appreciated seeing how she works through her photo library and plans what she wants to scrap and which photos she would choose. That's good process info/inspiration for me for photobooks and journals even if I don't make albums like her. It sounds like she will be scrapping pages with the plans/preparations she does in class for her free Fbk and YT videos, rather than making the layouts in the class, so it's a different type of class than most she's done. Behind the Scenes, as she called it.

Based on the first videos, I've gone through and organized the photos I'm going to scrap from the summer and sized them ready for print. I'll just need to put in my huge order for printing. I've enjoyed it so far, and also like the ability to ask questions when it's live. so far so good!

Hey ladies, could anyone who's taking Shimelle's new class try to reach out to her through the forum to see if there's a problem with her email (shimelle@gmail.com)? @missbellejane on here paid for JYC a week ago, sent two emails and not heard back yet. It seems really odd and like something's off with her subscription.

sized them ready for print I really liked that bit of advice for organizing printing. I could have really used that for PL back in the day. I'm a few videos behind now. She never skimps on content.

The live class is coming to an end today, and Shimelle mentioned she's had emails from people who have never taken a class from her before saying this is class was "interesting" (in that way that people say that to mean odd and not what they were expecting).
It is most definitely a "behind the scenes" class. Most of the content is live videos, some for the process of page kitting, with a little bit of live scrapping like she does on Facebook Mondays and Fridays. She's done a couple of facing-the-camera Q&A live sessions as well. There have only been a couple of recorded videos, one about photo organization, and one about Lightroom that she is having to scramble to do today/asap because the live software wouldn't play nice with the screen capture software she was planning to use (she had tested it but it worked different once she started to broadcast). There haven't been any emails or PDF lessons - she explained that this was a one-off experiment, not something she planned to develop the way she does with her other classes.
So, if you like her Fbk Live style, a bit chaotic, constant interruptions as she tries to answer questions from the live comments, etc, this class is like that. I found it fun to peek behind the scenes and see how she sorts photos to print, what's behind the desk when she's scrapping on camera, how she kits up a bunch of pages from her big scrap bin, and how she stores the kits so she can be ready to jump into a page at a moment's notice when the software doesn't work and suddenly she's live scrapping instead of showing us Lightroom editing.
But for a lot of people I think this class would feel too unplanned and chaotic, especially watching it after the fact, without being able to interact live and ask questions. I think it was a bold choice to do the live interaction format, and not a bad one for her, and I don't think any of us who are already fans of her process were too surprised by how it worked out. I think it was worth the $25 to me, but not more.
I wonder if other people who signed up would agree with me... ?

I am curious about some of her behind the scenes processes but not really enough to pay for a class since I have a very low completion rate. But I also felt like this was a throw away class for her because she offered that $150 subscription to all of the classes she released for the whole year and I don't think she came close to that yet. I am glad you got your $25 worth!

I found it interesting. I will take what I think will work for me and implement it into my process. I did wonder about her process, supply organization and journaling method and that’s what she covered. I enjoyed the live element and being able to ask questions. It was worth it for me and I agree that $25 was the max it was worth. No regrets from me but I can see why it wouldn’t have suited some people.

I guess that was a yes. Then I must admit it wasn't worth 25 dollars to me. It's the first time I say that about Shimelle's class.

I guess that was a yes. Then I must admit it wasn't worth 25 dollars to me. It's the first time I say that about Shimelle's class. Yes. It was basically a week and a half class, although with the extra videos she's making because one of the live sessions didn't work it will be an extra day or two. It did feel very short, but it was also fairly cheap. There were 10 videos, mostly live, plus another 1 or 2 to come, so some days there were 2 videos and some days none.

I am curious about some of her behind the scenes processes but not really enough to pay for a class since I have a very low completion rate. It was quite a bit of a time investment to watch the videos to get the tidbits of information, TBH. I ended up "watching" while I did other things because I got a bit bored with the interruptions. I wasn't able to catch any of the live sessions, so I could easily skip back if I felt like I missed something, but mostly I got a bit impatient with all the tangents from people asking questions (often the same questions that have been answered a million times in other videos). So yeah, finding time to watch 10 hour + long videos wasn't the easiest. Without the live stuff she could've probably shown us everything in 2-3 videos, but she wouldn't necessarily have gotten the questions that led to certain explanations. The live format is NOT time efficient!

I don't think it was fairly cheap. I'm not saying you're wrong in finding value in it, of course. Just that no e-mails, no lessons, no class structure but a few vids weren't worth it to me. A few of these vids were of her scrapbooking live and she does that for free on Facebook. No real interest to me. The Q&As were a bonus I guess, but you can also ask questions on a message board. But as I wrote earlier, that's the first time I think that way about her class.
