Do you push things ( garbage bin, wheelbarrow...)? Or pull?
My garbage bin in to tall for me to push, so I am a puller. I like to pull the grocery cart too.

I'm a pusher, but about half-way through, I always remember it's easier to pull, so I switch. Why I can't seem to remember that before I'm half way across the yard fighting with the can is a mystery to me...

On the extremely rare occasions that I wrangle the trash cans, I pull. The things are up to my chest, so trying to shove them up hill from the house would be impossible. I think DH pushes, but he’s a foot taller than I am, so the physics work better for him that way.

If so, I find that odd. I don't think I have ever seen anyone do that.

We don't have garbage carts/bins. All our trash goes out in huge sacks. I love that. No stinky can to clean. Also, once the truck goes through the neighborhood, no bins out, street is clean.

I pull the trash can and the recycling bin. Both are on wheels. I push a wheelbarrow.

I push my trash tote when it is full but if it is empty it is way easier to pull. In the grocery store I would prefer to pull the cart from the "tail" end instead of pushing it the proper way when I am going down an aisle but push it as I am going around a turn.

In our Wegmans grocery cart pullers are so frustrating. The ones who walk next to their carts and pull it from the side. They take up twice as much room in the aisle. When the store is super crowded it’s terrible especially in narrower spaces like produce.

Now that this thread makes me even think about it, I suppose I push almost all the time.
I did discover last weekend that luggage carts at hotels work ever so much better if you pull though. Most have stationary wheels on one end and pivoting wheels on the other. I’ve always struggled with the stupid things when there’s no bellhop. But someone in our party noted I was working against it by trying to push... which I suppose is what I’ve always done. When I pulled as they suggested — piece of cake. We won’t discuss how old I am and still didn’t know that.

I do both. Our driveway has a slope to it, so I "push" the trash, recycling and yard waste carts when going down. In a way, it's more like I'm pulling back on it to control it as it goes down the sloped part mostly under its own impetus. But it's easier to pull when on flat ground.
I push a grocery cart. I'm one of those who likes the taller carts as I can kind of lean on it as I'm shopping.

Where do you store that bag? If we did that here , wildlife/ would tear it apart. We used to live in a spot where the magpies could flip the lids off the bins and tear through the garbage.

We stand it in the garage, front of my car. I can open the kitchen door and put things in the upright sack. We put it out for the truck about 6:30-7 AM, so no problem with the raccoons or other wildlife. I live beside a creek so we have all kids of wildlife. We have new residents who want bins. It is currently a very hot topic in our city. Longtime residents (like me) love the sacks. One just learns that the garbage is put out in the AM, not the night before.

Both...it depends on the item. I pull the garbage bin and push the wheelbarrow.

Since our garbage pickup is usually 5:30 a.m., I would hate that! I occasionally wait until morning to put out the trash when we have to much to fit in the cans. I don’t want to risk wildlife tearing it apart if left out overnight. But 5:30 sure comes early LOL, and I try to get it out by 5:15 to make sure we don’t miss the truck.

dustbins are pulled - they are darn heavy and it's .2 miles from my house to the kerb (down a driveway and an easement - both dirt).
shopping carts are pushed
traditional wheelbarrows are pushed but utility carts (two wheeled) I sometimes pull, sometimes push
wagons are pulled as is wheeled luggage

Both depending on how heavy it is and what it is. Full 90 gallon trash can on wheels gets pushed down to the end of the driveway because it’s too heavy to pull with one hand. I can control it better if I’m pushing. Empty 90 gallon trash can can be pulled behind me. I can bring both of them back up at once because now they’re so much lighter.
I push a shopping cart. Trying to pull it along would aggravate my shoulder. Plus it would just annoy me because half of the time the stupid thing has a wobble wheel so it won’t drive straight unless it’s pushed from the handle side.

I’m fairly certain I’ve never once been out of bed before the garbage truck comes by. Are there rules about it, like that you can’t have bins? There’s no rules here, so about half the people put out sacks, and half put out bins. And some put out both.

If so, I find that odd. I don't think I have ever seen anyone do that.
I find that I end up pulling my cart some of the time. I am not sure why but somehow I get in front of it and just pull it along until somehow I end up behind it and just push it along. Consistency was never my strong suit.

I normally push, though I'm also a multi-tasker, so taking the trash down, for instance, I might push the big can and pull the little one.
Then, when I was pushing band props last week, I would randomly switch around and pull instead.
I mostly push the grocery cart (we call them buggies, but people from other places tease us), but if DD is pushing, I usually keep a hand on it in the "pull" position to keep my ankles safe.

I push the garbage/recycling bins when they are full one at a time (we have two recycle bins). I will push one and pull one at the same time when they are empty.
I haven’t used a wheelbarrow in years but I figure I’d push that too.

I push grocery carts. Dh usually takes the trash in and out but if I do, I pull those.
I detest yard work and can't remember the last time I used a wheelbarrow but I'm pretty sure I pushed it.

I'm so opposite.. lol.. I love the cans and they all match in our neighborhood. No messy bags laying around.. Our trash bins are pretty clean though, we never put unwrangled trash in the bins.. always in bags. I might have to spray it down once every few years. Oh and I push and sometimes I switch.. LOL.. Why?? I have no idea?

Both. Pushing down the drive and pulling the empty bin behind me when I come up.

This system of setting it out in the morning works well for those who work regular hours or who are routinely home early in the morning. For those of us that don’t a can is nice insurance against finding things strewn across the street.
